How do I rent tools or trucks?

Can I rent a tool for an hour?
Tool rentals start at four hour time slots. Simply choose the length of time that suits you. Small home improvement projects may only require a short rental period, and we can accommodate large projects as well. You've got options to rent tools by the day, week, or month, too. If you need it longer than anticipated, call your Rental Center to arrange an extension and avoid late fees.
When do I bring the tools back?
It's fine to return the tools early if you complete your project ahead of schedule, but on-time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off any built-up dirt from the tool as well. If you need the tools longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.
Can I choose how long to rent a truck?
Rent a cargo van, box truck, or pickup truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes may be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on the length of your project. Remember to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you'll need to bring it back to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Make sure to read the documentation before selecting a truck.
Do I need to refuel the rental truck when I'm done?
Yes, please fill up the truck before you return it. Make a note of the fuel level when you receive the truck, and fill it with enough gas to match that same level. When you don't refill the rental vehicle, you'll be hit with a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Do I just need a driver's license to rent a truck?
No, you also need to be 21 or older, in addition to holding a valid driver's license. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a credit card hold or a deposit, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck.
