NEEDS BETTER MANAGEMENT!!! TOOK OVER 1/2 AN HOUR TO GET MY SPECIAL ORDERED RAILING. WHEN I FINALLY GOT IT THE CARDBOARD BOX WAS DESTROYED AND IT WAS MISSING THE BRACKETS.

I have found someone at the Inver Grove Heights home depot always willing to help find a product, give advice on the project I am working on, and willing to go the extra yard to make my visit a positive experience.

I ordered and prepaid a new carpet for my basement with Home Depot. They sent someone to measure the space. On the estimate, there were charges for moving several furniture items. The Home Depot told me that I could move the items myself or pay the charges. I moved what I could and got the remaining items cleared off so that they would be easy for the installers to shift around. On the day of the carpet installation, two men arrived at the last minute of the installation window. They took a look at the space and told me they weren’t sure whether they could move a large bookcase. I offered some suggestions for how to dismantle it. They told me they would take a look and ignored me, so I went to the main floor of my home. A little while later, my phone rang. The installer’s main office called to tell me that they could not install the carpet in the room with the bookcases. The installer could put the carpet in for the rest of the basement, but they needed to come back and do the room with the bookcases after I removed the bookcases. I was very frustrated and told the representative that I would call back after I had calmed down so that we could schedule a second install for the room with the bookcases. I first asked that she let the installers know that they could go ahead and install the carpet in the rest of the basement. I had planned to work from home that day, and my first meeting arrived just as the installers re-entered my home. I told them that they could go ahead and install the carpet in all of the rooms except for the room with the bookcases, then gently closed the basement door so that I could start my meeting. When my meeting finished, I went down to the basement to check in. No one was there and no work had been done. I had not received any calls or messages from the installer, and there was no note. When I called the installer to ask what had happened, they told me that the person in charge of my installation was not available to talk to me and that they would call back soon. Over half an hour later, I called again. The person in charge of my installation was still not available, but a different person rescheduled my installation for another day without explaining what had happened. An hour later, the different person called me back to tell me that the installers left because I yelled at them and slammed a door in their face. He seemed to enjoy putting me down. I apologized but this did not seem to make a difference. Although the service at this Home Depot is fine, I would not recommend buying flooring here as the installation company (Erskine) is antagonistic on the phone and downright strange in person.

I am helping my daughter landscape her new home. The lawn and garden department employees are very knowledgeable and helpful in finding the right plants, equipment and chemicals for the job!

Overall it is a good store and easy to get around. But, at times it does not have the same products bigger stores have. But, the employees are friendly and it is easy to do a return.

The associate Evelyn provided excellent service. She helped me in every way possible, from finding items I needed to completing a phone order. Thank you for being patient and kind throughout the entire process. She was very informative, and helped us complete our transaction. She was also the ONLY person to offer us assistance, and made sure we had everything we needed. That kind of service definitely deserves some recognition,

Great store, Easy to navigate, friendly people, usually not busy

Store is clean and most employees are helpful. Would not recommend using their installation services because it takes too long to set up correctly. Products they sell are nice quality and prices seem fair.

Employees were consistently easy to approach, helpful and friendly. This Home Depot is definitely a positive change from other stores I’ve been to where employees actually avoid making eye contact and pretend not to hear me when I call out to them. Usually such employees will change their direction and/or walk away as fast as they can. I just moved here from another state. I have experienced many many Home Depot’s and this is the first one I have taken the time to write about.

I am always happy with the service I get at Home Depot. Everyone is always very happy to help me and I always leave feeling like they (whoever the employee was ) went out of their way for me. This last time I was helped by Sahvanna ( not sure about the spelling ) she was very helpful and knowledgeable about the lawnmower I bought. Very pleasant !

I overheard The manager of the paint department, Chris, talking to a grumpy, demanding customer while I was shopping. She kept him on the line for 10-15 minutes, repeatedly demanding that he make a delivery on a Sunday, which was not possible. Chris never lost his cool or betrayed the least tone of irritation when she refused repeatedly to take a very polite No for an answer. I was so impressed!

Very friendly and helpful staff!

The store was clean and very well organized. I needed something that appeared to be out of stock, but a very helpful employee was able to find back stock within a matter of minutes and have me on my way out the door with the item that I came for.

Very knowledgeable sales staff (specifically, Joe in the Lawnmower/Yard Care area), with a friendly personal touch. Got just the right lawnmower and even enjoyed the experience! Outshines even other Home Depot stores nearby!

THE NEW CUSTOMER SERVICE / RETURNS AREA RUDELY REFUSED TO CHECK ME OUT, EVEN THOUGH 5 EMPLOYEES WERE NOT HELPING ANY CUSTOMERS. ALL 3 HOME DEPOT EMPLOYEES I ASKED TO CHECK ME OUT, REFUSED TO DO SO AND RUDELY DIRECTED TO TO GO DOWN TO THE FAR END OF THE STORE TO CHECK OUT. THIS SAME NEGATIVE EXPERIENCE HAPPENED TO MY WIFE THE DAY BEFORE. SO AFTER CHECKING OUT AT THE FAR END OF THE STORE, I WALKED BACK PAST THE NEW CUSTOMER SERVICE / RETURNS AREA AND AGAIN NO CUSTOMERS WERE BEING HELPED. I TALKED TWICE WITH THE MANAGER ABOUT THE RUDE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND HE DID NOT SEEM CONCERNED ABOUT MY COMPLAINTS. HE REFUSED TO GIVE ME A $50 GIFT CARD BUT SAID HE WOULD CREDIT ME BACK THE COST OF THE LIGHT BULBS I HAD PURCHASED. IRONICALLY, THE LIGHT BULBS I HAD PURCHASED COST $59.94. AT THIS TIME, I HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE $59.94 CREDIT. IN ADDITION, THE MANAGER INSISTED I RETURN TO THE STORE TO RECEIVE THE CREDIT BUT FINALLY AGREED TO HAVE ME FAX TO HIM MY RECEIPT SO I WOULD NOT BE INCONVENIENCED ANY MORE. LASTLY, I SHARED WITH THE MANAGER THAT I HAVE TWO NEW TOTAL KNEE REPLACEMENTS AND DO NOT APPRECIATE WALKING FROM ONE END OF THE STORE TO THE OTHER ON CONCRETE FLOORS.

The staff here is knowledgeable and kind. They always help me find what I'm looking for and have often made suggestions for better products and services.

This store could show where the paint department is when entering, the sign for paint is midway through the store. This store normally has a good stock of merchandise. Employees are friendly and helpful.

This was the WORST experience I've ever had. It took 40 minutes to get the item I needed and out the door. This was after being subjected to extremely rude service from two sales associates (one actually snapped at me when I asked the difference between two products). I had it narrowed down to two items, so could have been out in five minutes. The person who finalized the sale was polite, but wasn't entirely honest (or wasn't trained). He did waive the delivery fee for my inconvenience and the rudeness of the other clerks. He said I would be called first thing in the morning with approximate delivery time. I waited for two hours without receiving a call and finally went online to see if I could locate the information (he also said the number would be on the sales receipt, which it was not). The website gave a 12 hour window!! I called a number and was bounced around until I was finally connected to the store. The associate blamed ME and said I had to pay extra for a time slot!!! I wasn't asking for an EXACT time, just something less than 12 hours! Ridiculous. I asked to speak to a manager (Frank) and he was polite, but still couldn't locate information about my delivery time. At the 30 minute mark, I told him to just call me back. He finally called back and confirmed I would have to pay extra for a specific time, but did expect the delivery time to be around 4:00. I'm going to avoid Home Depot like the plague from now on. Customer service has really gone downhill the past couple of years, their prices are pretty steep and their selection is limited. It's really sad a person can't walk into a store and hope to be treated with respect. It wasn't until I became annoyed that people started to hustle a little and take me seriously. Who needs that aggravation?

I have been in the store many times lately due to rehabbing a house. The various department personnel are knowledgeable and quick to help with all my silly questions.
