The Home Depot Rental Center at Irving

When you're starting to leap into a major DIY project, you might not have all the required tools in the workshop or garage. Don't let that stop you when you can stop by The Home Depot Tool Rental Center in Irving.

Tool Rental
Our tool rental options expand your toolbelt and toolbox with the precise tools you require to complete your DIY project. It's not practical to buy a specialty tool when you're not using it frequently. When you're looking for a new tool, try it out before you decide which one to purchase. Whatever your situation, we have the power tools you're looking for.

Make Painting Easier with Rental Scaffolding and Ladders
Take advantage of warmer weather to paint outdoors. Rent paint sprayers to get optimal coverage and work much faster than you would with a brush or roller and a paint tray. Rent ladders and scaffolding to reach elevated areas when painting fences, houses, and sheds. We carry step ladders and extension ladders for small to medium jobs, so you won't have to wait when you're feeling motivated to check that job off the to-do list.

Rent Post Hole Diggers, Floor Sanders, and Shop Vacuums
Tackle serious projects with serious power tools. Take your scuffed hardwood to the next level with a floor sander rental and a shop vac rental to get the floors smooth and ready for refinishing. Construct a new fence around your property faster and more efficiently with a post hole digger rental, then utilize other concrete tools to securely set your fence posts.

Truck Rental
If it's time to get going on your next project but you lack the wheels to do it, visit The Home Depot Truck Rental Center. From flatbed and pickup trucks to Penske moving trucks and box trucks, we've got the transportation you need. We'll have the correct size for your project so you can keep your job on track. Rent a truck to check off more DIY jobs from your list. Check with your local rental center for availability, as it is subject to change.

Frequently Asked Questions about Rentals

How do I rent a truck or tool?

Stop by the Rental Center at your nearest Home Depot to see what's available. If you'd like confirmation before you drive there, call first to inquire about a tool or truck. You might also read our tool and equipment rental or truck rental pages to see if what you need is carried at your local store. For more information on renting tools, read our Tool Rental FAQs, which includes terms and conditions for the equipment.

Can I rent tools by the hour?

Tool rentals start at four hour time slots. It depends on how long you'd like to rent them. Small home improvement jobs may only require a short rental period, and we can accommodate large projects as well. You've got options to rent tools by the month, day, or week, too. If you need it longer than what you signed up for, call your Rental Center for an extension and avoid late fees.

When do I return the tools?

You're welcome to return the tools early if you complete your project faster than planned, but on-time works, too. As long as you return it by the deadline you were given when you rented it, you'll be good to go. Please clean off any grime and dust from the tool as well. If you need them longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.

Can I choose how long to rent a truck?

Rent a box truck, cargo van, or flatbed truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes might be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on how long your project is. Remember to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you'll need to return it to the same store where you rented it. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Make sure to read the provided documentation before choosing your vehicle.

Do I need to refill the rental truck with gas?

Yes, please fuel up the truck before you bring it back. Match the level of gas that was in the tank when you got the rental. When you don't refill the vehicle, you'll be hit with a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.

Do I just need a driver's license to rent a truck?

No, you also need to be 21 or older, in addition to holding a valid driver's license. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a credit card hold or a deposit, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck.
