The Home Depot Rental Center at Irvington

When you're starting to dive into a major DIY project, you might not have all the tools you need in a garage. Don't let that stop you when you can stop by The Home Depot Irvington Tool Rental Center.

Tool Rental
Our tool rental choices expand your toolbelt with the exact tools you need to complete your project. It's not practical to buy a specific tool when you're not using it often. When you're thinking about buying a new tool, try it out first before you select which one to purchase. Whatever your situation, we have the tools you're looking for.

Rent Post Hole Diggers, Shop Vacs, and Floor Sanders
Tackle serious projects with reliable power tool rentals. Take your scuffed hardwood floor to the next level with a floor sander rental and a shop vacuum to get the floors smooth and ready for refinishing. Construct a new fence around your pool or property faster with a post hole digger rental, then use other concrete tools that suit your job.

Make Painting Easier with Rental Scaffolding and Ladders
Take advantage of longer spring days and paint outdoors. Rent paint sprayers to get professional coverage and work much faster than you would with a brush or roller and a paint tray. Rent ladders and scaffolding to reach high locations when painting fences, houses, and sheds. We carry step ladders and extension ladders for medium or smaller jobs, so you won't have to wait when you're ready to get that job done.

Rental Trucks
Choose one of our trucks when you need a pickup truck or cargo van. It's great for hauling a large purchase or tool rental. With an excellent price and availability, our vehicles are ready when you need them. We've also got Penske moving trucks and box trucks to help ease the stress of a big move. Availability varies by store, so check out our FAQ or speak to an Orange Apron to make sure you find the right rental truck for you.

Large Equipment Rentals
Complete massive projects with professional equipment. Our large equipment rentals give you the power you need. From the scissor lifts to give you a boost to the skid steers for hauling materials, we've got a surprising variety of equipment available. If a large equipment rental could help you, explore our selection to see what we've got in stock.

Although we're mentioning specific tool, truck, and large equipment rentals, not everything is available at every rental center. If you've got a particular tool in mind, please contact your local rental center to see where you can pick it up.

Frequently Asked Questions about Rentals

How do I rent a piece of large equipment, a tool, or a truck?

Stop by the Rental Center at your nearest Home Depot to see what's available. If you'd like to be sure of what's in stock, call first to inquire about a tool, truck, or large equipment. You may also visit our tool and equipment rental or truck rental pages to see if what you need is offered at your local store. For more information on renting tools or large equipment, read our Tool Rental FAQs, including equipment terms and conditions.

Can I rent a tool or large equipment for an hour?

You can rent large equipment or tools for four hours or more. It depends on how long you'd like to rent them. Small home improvement projects may only require a rental for a few hours, and we can accommodate large projects as well. You've got options to rent tools by the week, month, or day, too. If you need it longer than your initial rental period, call your Rental Center for an extension and avoid late fees.

When do I return the tools?

You can return the tools early if you finish your project ahead of schedule, but on-time works, too. As long as you return it by the deadline you were given when you rented it, you'll be good to go. Please clean off any mud or dirt from the tool as well. If you need it longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.

Can I rent a truck for a few hours?

Rent a cargo van, box truck, or pickup truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes might be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on how long your project is. Don't forget to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you must return it to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Make sure to read the contract before selecting a vehicle.

Should I refill the rental truck before I bring it back?

Yes, please fuel up the truck before you return it. Match the level of gas that was in the tank when you got the rental. If you don't, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.

Do I just need a driver's license to rent a truck or large equipment?

No, you also need to be 21 or older, in addition to holding a valid driver's license. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements. Select tools as well as large equipment also require ID verification via CLEAR.

Do I need to pick up my large equipment rental from the store?

Depending on your location, you may be able to get large equipment dropped off and picked up from your job site for an affordable rate — out in the field or at your own home. We'll need at least 24 hours notice so we can adequately prepare your rented equipment and you'll need to rent it for a full day. Speak to an associate for the ideal way to get your large equipment.

What are some ways to avoid extra fees and penalties on my large equipment rentals?

Think of your rented large equipment as any other vehicle: Make sure it's parked legally and you obey traffic laws. Read the manual so you're using it correctly to avoid damaging the equipment or injuring yourself. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are, as cancelling within 12 hours of delivery means you'll incur a cancellation fee. Make sure to return equipment by the deadline or extend the rental period to accommodate the extra time you require.
