Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting rechargeable batteries, plastic plant pots, CFLs, and lead acid batteries for recycling.
Home Depot stores sent approximately 5.3 million pounds of shredded paper for recycling in 2022. This helped the planet by preserving over 63,500 trees, keeping over 16,000 trash bags of solid waste out of landfills, saving over 50 million gallons of water, and conserving 7.8 million kilowatt hours of electricity.
LED lights in your local store cut energy consumption by 98 million kilowatt hours. Many stores also participate in renewable energy initiatives like wind and solar.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our associates and customers, and this commitment extends beyond our stores to our communities, as well as the environment. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Learn more about our eco actions.

Is it good to have a generator at home?
Having a generator means you're prepared for any circumstances Mother Nature throws at you. Whether you're dealing with severe thunderstorms, blizzards hurricanes, tornados, or strong winds, a portable generator lets you enjoy electricity after the elements knock it out. When exploring different generators for sale, keep in mind that portable generators are more affordable and generate more electricity than inverter generators, but they're louder and heavier. For safety purposes, always run your generators outside, away from windows and doors.
What home repairs should I make sooner rather than later?
Make sure your home is ready for spring temperatures swings and storms by replacing any faulty or broken parts of your hardscaping and home. If water freezes in the crevices, you could have problems. On the outside of your home, examine metal roof panels or roof shingles for rust or damage that could let water in. Clean gutters to prevent ice dams if you're prone to frozen precip as the seasons change. Check bricks and cinder block for cracks, and ensure indoor ceiling tiles are free from water damage and missing pieces. Lastly, vinyl siding and chimney caps should be swapped out if they're in poor condition.
Does The Home Depot sell doorbell cameras?
Enjoy safety, privacy, and peace of mind with a wireless or wired doorbell camera. No more peeking through the peephole or a nearby window when you can see visitors in real time. Some doorbell cams even let you talk to whoever is on your doorstep via your phone, which is useful to scare off potential porch pirates or talk to delivery people. Many cameras integrate with your smart home hub or app to give you flexible and easy accessibility. Save video clips for future reference as needed and worry less with more control.
