When you're beginning to dive into a big DIY job, you might not have every tool you need in the workshop or garage. Don't let that stop you when you can stop by The Home Depot Tool Rental Center in Kentwood.
Tool and Equipment Rental
Our tool rental options enlarge your toolbelt and toolbox with the exact tools you require to complete the job. It's impractical to invest in a specific tool when you're not using it at least once a week. When you're thinking about getting a new tool, do a trial run before you select which one to get. Whatever your situation, we have the power tools you're looking for.
Make Painting Easier with Rental Scaffolding and Ladders
Make the most of longer spring days and paint outdoors. Rent paint sprayers to get optimal coverage fast and renew surfaces. Rent ladders and scaffolding to reach high areas when painting fences, houses, and sheds. We carry extension ladders and step ladders for small to medium jobs, so you won't have to wait when inspiration strikes.
Rent Shop Vacs, Post Hole Diggers, and Floor Sanders
Tackle major projects with reliable power tools. Get your garden bed ready for spring with a tiller rental or ensure fresh sod lays just right with a sod cutter rental. Construct a new fence around your property more efficiently with a post hole digger rental, then utilize other concrete tools to securely set your fence posts.
Truck Rental
To move large tool rentals or anything else, we keep pickup trucks and box trucks ready for rental — with availability varying by store. Choose the right size truck rental for your DIY project so you can keep your timeline running smoothly. As your trusted source for packing, DIY projects, and storage needs, it's smart to make us your go-to source for transport and moving as well.
To get tools and transportation for your DIY or moving project, check out The Home Depot Kentwood Tool and Truck Rental Center. Renting the appropriate tools for the job is important, so let us help. We're here to help you get that home improvement project done.
How do I rent a tool or a truck?
Stop by the Rental Center at your nearest Home Depot to see what's available. If you'd like to be sure of what's in stock, call first to inquire about a tool or truck. You could also visit our tool and equipment rental or truck rental pages to see if what you need is at your favorite store. For more details on renting tools, read the Tool Rental FAQs, which includes equipment terms and conditions.
Can I rent a tool by the hour?
Tool rentals start at four hour time slots. Simply choose the length of time that suits you. Small DIY projects may only require a rental that's a few hours long, and we can accommodate large projects as well. You've got options to rent tools by the week, day, or month, too. If you need it longer than what you signed up for, call the Rental Center for an extension and avoid late fees.
When do I return the tools?
It's fine to return the tools early if you complete your project ahead of schedule, but on-time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off any built-up dirt from the tool as well. If you need the tools longer, call the rental center to see if you can extend your rental period.
How long can I rent a truck?
Rent a box truck, cargo van, or flatbed truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes could be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on how long your project is. Remember to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you'll need to bring it back to the same store where you rented it. Penske moving truck rentals allow one-way rentals as well as round-trip options, and they have different terms. Be sure to read the provided documentation before selecting a truck.
Do I need to refill the rental truck with gas?
Yes, please fuel up the truck before you return it. Note the fuel level when you receive the truck, and be sure to fill it with enough gas to match that same level. When you don't refill the rental vehicle, you'll be hit with a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Do I just need a driver's license to rent a truck?
No, you also need to be 21 or older, in addition to holding a valid driver's license. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements.
