The Home Depot Rental Center at Kona

When you're preparing to make the leap into a big home improvement project, you might not have all the required tools in a workshop. That's when you should stop by The Home Depot Kona Tool Rental Center.

Tool and Equipment Rental
Our tool rental choices enlarge your toolbox with the precise tools you need to complete your project. It's not practical to keep a specialized tool when you're not using it frequently. When you're thinking about getting a new tool, try it out first before you decide which one to buy. Whatever your situation, we have the power tools you're looking for.

Rent Shop Vacuums, Floor Sanders, and Post Hole Diggers
Tackle major projects with robust power tools. Take your scuffed hardwood floor to the next level with a floor sander rental and a shop vacuum rental to get the floors smooth and ready for refinishing. Construct a new fence around your property faster with a post hole digger rental, then utilize other concrete tools that suit your project.

Make Painting Easier with Paint Sprayers and Rental Scaffolding
Make the most of warmer weather to paint outdoors. Rent paint sprayers to get professional coverage and work much faster than you would with a brush or roller and a paint tray. Rent ladders and scaffolding to reach elevated surfaces when painting fences, houses, and sheds. We carry extension ladders and step ladders for medium or smaller jobs, so you won't have to wait when inspiration strikes.

Truck Rental
To meet your transport needs, we keep trucks and cargo vans on hand — with availability varying by store. You're sure to find the correct size truck rental for your project so you can keep your timeline running smoothly. As your source for storage needs, DIY projects, and packing, it's simple to make us your source for moving and transport as well.

To get transportation and tools for your moving or DIY project, check out The Home Depot Kona Tool and Truck Rental Center. Having the right tools for the job is important, so let us help. We're here to help you get that DIY project done.

Frequently Asked Questions about Rentals

How do I rent trucks and tools?

Stop by the Rental Center at your nearest Home Depot to see what's available. If you'd like to be sure of what's in stock, call first to inquire about a truck or tool. You may also read our truck rental or tool and equipment rental pages to see if what you need is offered at your store. For more details on renting tools, read the Tool Rental FAQs, including terms and conditions for the equipment.

Can I rent a tool for a day?

You can rent a tool for four hours or more. Simply choose the length of time that suits you. Small DIY jobs may only require a rental for a few hours, and we can accommodate large projects as well. You've got options to rent tools by the month, day, or week, too. If you need it longer than anticipated, call your Rental Center for an extension and avoid late fees.

When do I return the tools?

You can return the tools early if you finish your project ahead of schedule, but on-time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off any grime and dust from the tool as well. If you need them longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.

Can I rent a truck for a week?

Rent a cargo van, box truck, or flatbed truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes could be enough time. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on how long your project is. Be sure to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you must bring it back to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Be sure to read the documentation before you select a vehicle.

Do I need to refuel the rental truck when I'm done?

Yes, please fill up the truck before you bring it back. Match the amount of gas that was in the tank when you received the rental. If you don't, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.

Do I just need a driver's license to rent a truck?

No, you also need to be 21 or older, in addition to holding a valid driver's license. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a credit card hold or a deposit, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck.
