The Home Depot Rental Center at Lake Wales

Tool and Equipment Rental
Start your next DIY project with confidence and the correct tools for the job. Let The Home Depot Lake Wales Tool Rental Center expand your toolbox with the items you don't have on hand. You can rent a tool and return it when you're done. If it turns out the rental tools would be more useful than you thought, we have used tools available for purchase. Compared to the new items on our store shelves, they're discounted.

Add Insulation When the Weather is Cooler
To make your home more energy efficient, add another layer to your insulation in the spring, if possible — before it gets dangerously hot in the attic. Rent equipment made for insulation to get it installed correctly. Decide between a fiberglass blower or a cellulose insulation blower, and insulate those nooks and crannies with ease. Help keep your heating and cooling bills under control with new insulation that maintains your home's temperature.

Tame the Bushes and Lawn Early
Lighten the load with outdoor power equipment rentals and whip the yard into shape again. Neaten the lawn and bushes with edgers and rental lawn mowers, and get that driveway and sidewalk clean again with a pressure washer rental. Your outdoor oasis will be looking fresh and ready for new spring flowers in no time.

Cargo Van and Truck Rentals
For your transport needs, we keep trucks of all kinds on hand. Although availability varies by store, we've got a selection ranging from cargo vans to pickup trucks to flatbed trucks. You're sure to find the right size for your DIY project so you can keep your timeline running smoothly. As your trusted source for DIY projects, storage needs, and packing, it's simple to make us your source for truck rental as well.

Box Truck Rentals
When you need a 12-foot box truck for a small move, we've got just what you need. It's a great solution for cross-town moves. Use it for transporting extra belongings to a storage space as well. Get your truck, pack it full, then return it to that same store when you're done.

Penske Moving Trucks
You trust us with your home improvement jobs. Do the same when it's time to relocate to a new space. We offer Penske moving trucks in sizes ranging from 12 feet to 26 feet. Use our trucks to haul all your belongings — from a dorm to a city apartment to a 3-bedroom home, and anything in between.

Large Equipment Rentals
Handle expansive projects with professional power equipment. Our large equipment rentals give you the power you need. From the scissor lifts to give you a boost to the mini excavators for hauling materials, we've got an expansive variety of equipment available. If a large equipment rental could help you, explore our selection to see what we've got in stock.

Although we're calling out popular tool, truck, and large equipment rentals, not everything is available at every rental center. If you've got a particular piece of equipment in mind, please contact your local rental center to see where you can pick it up.

Frequently Asked Questions about Rentals

How do I rent large equipment, trucks, or tools?

Stop by the Rental Center at your nearest Home Depot to see what's available. If you want confirmation before you drive there, call first to inquire about a truck, tool, or large equipment. You could also visit our truck rental or tool and equipment rental pages to see if what you need is available at your store. For more on renting large equipment or tools, read the Tool Rental FAQs, including terms and conditions for the equipment.

How long can I rent tools or large equipment?

Large equipment rentals and tool rentals start at four hour time slots. It depends on how long you'd like to rent them. Small home improvement jobs may only require a rental for a few hours, and major projects can also be accommodated. You've got options to rent tools by the week, day, or month, too. If you need it longer than what you signed up for, call the Rental Center to arrange an extension and avoid late fees.

When can I bring the tools back?

You can return the tools early if you finish your project ahead of schedule, but on-time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off any mud or dirt from the tool as well. If you need them longer, call the rental center to see if you can extend your rental period.

Can I rent a truck for a few hours?

Rent a truck or cargo van for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes could be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on how long your project is. Don't forget to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you'll need to return it to the same store where you rented it. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Be sure to read the contract before choosing a truck.

Do I need to refill the rental truck with gas?

Yes, please fill up the truck before you return it. Note the original fuel level when you receive the truck, and be sure to fill it with enough gas to match that level. If you don't, you'll be hit with a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.

Can I rent a truck or large equipment with only a driver's license?

No, you also need to be 21 or older, in addition to holding a valid driver's license. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements. Select tools as well as large equipment also require ID verification via CLEAR.

How do I receive my large equipment rental?

Depending on your location, you can get large equipment dropped off and picked up from your job site for a reasonable cost — whether that's at your home or out in the field. You'll need to rent it for one day or longer and provide us with 24 hours notice so we can adequately prepare your rented large equipment. In places where delivery isn't available, speak to an associate for the ideal way to get your large equipment.

How do I avoid extra fees and penalties on rented large equipment?

Treat your rented large equipment as any other vehicle: Make sure it's parked legally and you obey traffic laws. Read the manual so you're using it correctly to avoid damaging the equipment or injuring yourself. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are, as cancelling within 12 hours of delivery means you'll incur a cancellation fee. Extend your rental period if you need extra time so you won't get dinged with a late fee.
