Tool Rental
The Home Depot Tool Rental Center in Laurel lets you do larger DIY projects. Break free of the limits of old tools and rent up-to-date tools made to suit your projects. Tame the Lawn and Bushes Early
Lighten the load with outdoor power equipment rentals and whip the yard into shape again. Neaten the yard with a rental lawn mower and leaf blower, the trees and hedges with a chainsaw rental, and the sidewalks with a rental pressure washer. Your outdoor oasis will be looking fresh and ready for new spring flowers before you know it.
Add Insulation When the Weather is Cooler
To make your home more energy efficient, update your insulation in the spring — before it gets dangerously hot in your attic. Rent specialized equipment for insulation to get it installed correctly. Choose from a cellulose insulation blower or a fiberglass blower, and get those nooks and crannies insulated with ease. You'll enjoy steadier utility bills and a more consistent home temperature with new insulation.

How do I rent tools and trucks?
Stop by the Rental Center at your nearest Home Depot to see what's available. If you'd like confirmation before you drive there, call first to inquire about a truck or tool. You might also check out our truck rental or tool and equipment rental pages to see if what you need is offered at your store. For more information on renting tools, read these Tool Rental FAQs, which includes terms and conditions for the equipment.
Can I rent a tool for a day?
Tool rentals start at four hour time slots. It depends on how long you'd like to rent them. Small home improvement jobs may only require a short rental period, and we can accommodate large projects as well. You've got options to rent tools by the week, month, or day, too. If you need it longer than what you signed up for, call your Rental Center for an extension and avoid late fees.
When do I bring the tools back?
It's fine to return the tools early if you complete your project ahead of schedule, but on-time works, too. As long as you return it by the deadline you were given when you rented it, you'll be good to go. Please clean off mud and grime from the tool as well. If you need them longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.
Can I rent a truck for a week?
Rent a box truck, cargo van, or pickup truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes might be enough time. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on the length of your project. Be sure to factor in the drive between the store and the job site, as you must bring it back to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Make sure to read the terms and conditions before choosing your truck.
Do I need to refill the rental truck with gas?
Yes, please fill up the truck before you bring it back. Make a note of the amount of gas in the tank when you receive the truck, and fill it with enough gas to match that same level. If you don't, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Do I just need a driver's license to rent a truck?
No, you also need to be 21 or older, in addition to holding a valid driver's license. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a credit card hold or a deposit, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements.
