The Home Depot Tool Rental Center in Loveland helps you handle bigger DIY projects. Break free of the limits of old tools and rent up-to-date tools made to suit your projects. Complete your project safely and confidently by renting quality tools. If your local store doesn't have a tool you need in stock, it might be available at another store within driving distance.
A Comfortable Workspace is a Productive One
Get ahead of summer heat by prepping in the springtime. Plan to keep your workspace comfortable and cool so you can get more done. We have generators to run rental air conditioners, fans, and all your large power tools.
Tame the Lawn and Bushes Early
Lighten the load with outdoor power equipment rentals and whip the yard into shape again. Neaten the yard with a rental lawn mower and leaf blower, the trees and hedges with a chainsaw rental, and the sidewalks with a rental pressure washer. Your outdoor oasis will be ready for new spring flowers in no time.
Cargo Van and Truck Rentals
For transporting large tool rentals or anything else, we keep trucks of all kinds ready to rent. Although availability varies by store, we've got a selection ranging from flatbeds to pickup trucks to cargo vans. You're sure to find the right size for your project so you can keep your job on track. As your source for packing, DIY projects, and storage needs, it's simple to make us your go-to source for truck rental as well.
Box Truck and Penske Moving Truck Rentals
If it's time to relocate to a new home, let us help with that. Explore our rental box trucks. We also offer Penske moving trucks in sizes ranging from 12-feet to 26-feet, but as always, availability varies by store. Our box trucks have different rental requirements and sizes than Penske moving trucks, so check the FAQ or speak to an associate to make sure you find the right rental truck for you.

From the scissor and boom lifts to give you a boost to the mini excavators for hauling materials, we've got an expansive variety of equipment available. If a large equipment rental could help you, explore our selection to see what we've got in stock.
Although we're calling out specific large equipment, truck, and tool rentals, our rental center may not have everything on hand for your required time frame. If you've got a particular item in mind, please contact your local rental center to see where you can pick it up.
How do I rent large equipment, tools, or trucks?
Stop by the Rental Center at your nearest Home Depot to see which tools or trucks you can rent. If you want confirmation before you drive there, call first to inquire about a tool, truck, or large equipment. You may also check out our tool and equipment rental or truck rental pages to see if what you need is available at your store. For more on renting tools or large equipment, read these Tool Rental FAQs, which includes terms and conditions for the equipment.
Can I rent tools or large equipment by the hour?
You can rent a tool or large equipment for four hours or more. It depends on how long you'd like to rent them. Small DIY jobs may only require a rental that's a few hours long, and we can accommodate large projects as well. You've got options to rent large equipment and tools by the month, day, or week, too. If you need it longer than your initial rental period, call the Rental Center to arrange an extension and avoid late fees.
When can I bring the tools back?
It's fine to return the tools early if you finish your project sooner than predicted, but on-time works, too. As long as you return it by the deadline you were given when you rented it, you'll be good to go. Please clean off any mud or dirt from the tool as well. If you need it longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.
How long can I rent a truck?
Rent a cargo van, box truck, or pickup truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes may be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on how long your project is. Don't forget to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you must return it to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow one-way rentals as well as round-trip options, and they have different terms. Be sure to read the contract and terms and conditions before selecting a vehicle.
Do I need to refill the rental truck with gas?
Yes, please fill up the truck before you return it. Make a note of the original fuel level when you receive the truck, and be sure to fill it with enough gas to match that level. When you don't refill the rental vehicle, you'll be hit with a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Can I rent large equipment or a truck with only a driver's license?
No, you also need to be 21 or older, in addition to holding a valid driver's license. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a credit card hold or a deposit, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements. Large equipment or select tools also require ID verification via CLEAR.
Do I need to go get my large equipment rental from the store?
Depending on your location, you may be able to get large equipment delivered and picked up from your job site for a reasonable cost — whether that's at your home or out in the field. We'll need at least 24 hours notice so we can adequately prepare your rented equipment and you'll need to rent it for a full day. Speak to an associate for the ideal way to get your large equipment.
How do I avoid extra fees and penalties on rented large equipment?
Treat your rented large equipment as any other vehicle: Make sure you obey traffic laws and it's parked legally. Read the instructions so you're using it correctly to avoid injuring yourself or damaging the equipment. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are. If you cancel within 12 hours of your scheduled delivery, you'll pay a cancellation fee. Extend your rental period if you need extra time so you won't get hit with a late fee.
