The Home Depot Rental Center at Ludington

Tool and Equipment Rental
Kick off your home improvement job with confidence and the best tools for the job. Let The Home Depot Ludington Tool Rental Center expand your toolbox with the items you don't have on hand. You can rent what you need and bring it back when the job is done. If you need to add those tools in your toolbox permanently, inquire about buying our retired rental tools. Compared to the new items on our store shelves, they're discounted.

Make Painting Easier with Rental Scaffolding and Ladders
Make the most of warmer weather to paint outdoors. Rent paint sprayers to get optimal coverage and work much faster than you would with a brush or roller and a paint tray. Rent ladders and scaffolding to reach elevated surfaces when painting fences, houses, and sheds. We carry extension ladders and step ladders for medium or smaller jobs, so you won't have to wait when you're ready to work.

Tame the Greenery and Lawn Early
Lighten the load with outdoor power equipment rentals and whip the yard into shape again. Neaten the lawn and shrubs with rental lawn mowers and edgers, and get that driveway clean again with a pressure washer rental. Your outdoor oasis will be looking fresh and ready for new spring flowers in no time.

Frequently Asked Questions about Rentals

How do I rent trucks or tools?

Stop by the Rental Center at your nearest Home Depot to see what tools or trucks you can rent. If you want confirmation before you drive there, call first to inquire about a truck or tool. You can also visit our truck rental or tool and equipment rental pages to see if what you need is available at your local store. For more on renting tools, read the Tool Rental FAQs, which includes equipment terms and conditions.

Can I rent a tool for an hour?

You can rent a tool for four hours or more. It depends on how long you'd like to rent them. Small home improvement jobs may only require a short rental period, and we can accommodate large projects as well. You've got options to rent tools by the week, day, or month, too. If you need it longer than your initial rental period, call your Rental Center for an extension and avoid late fees.

When do I return the tools?

It's fine to return the tools early if you complete your project sooner than predicted, but on-time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off any mud or dirt from the tool as well. If you need them longer, call your local rental center to see if you can extend your rental period.

Can I rent a truck for a week?

Rent a cargo van, box truck, or flatbed truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes might be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on how long your project is. Be sure to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you'll need to bring it back to the same store where you rented it. Penske moving truck rentals allow one-way rentals as well as round-trip options, and they have different terms. Be sure to read the contract before selecting a vehicle.

Do I need to refill the rental truck with gas?

Yes, please fuel up the truck before you return it. Match the amount of gas that was in the tank when you got the rental. If you don't, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.

Do I just need a driver's license to rent a truck?

No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be 21 or older. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a credit card hold or a deposit, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck.
