Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting plastic plant pots, CFLs, lead acid batteries, and rechargeable batteries for recycling.
Our stores sent approximately 5.3M pounds of shredded paper for recycling in 2022. This has helped the planet by preserving over 63.5K trees. It kept over 16K trash bags of solid waste out of landfills, saved over 50M gallons of water, and conserved 7.8M kilowatt hours of electricity.
We have decreased electricity consumption by over 52% in our U.S. stores since 2010.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our customers and associates. This commitment extends beyond our stores to the environment, as well as our local communities. Is it good to have a generator at home?
Having a generator means you're prepared for any circumstances life throws at you. Whether dealing with tornados, hurricanes, or strong winds, a portable generator lets you enjoy power when the elements knock it out. When searching generators for sale, don't forget that portable generators cost less and generate more electricity than inverter generators, but they're louder and heavier. For safety purposes, always run your generators outside, away from windows and doors.
How can I prepare my home for fluctuating spring temperatures?
Ready your home for spring temperature swings by repairing or replacing faulty parts of your home and hardscaping. If water freezes in the crevices, you could be in for a real headache. Check brickwork and cinder blocks for cracks, and verify indoor ceiling tiles are free from missing pieces and water damage. On the outside of your home, examine roofing shingles or metal roofing panels for damage or rust that could let water in. Gutters should be clear to prevent ice dams if you're still prone to ice storms and snow. Lastly, vinyl siding and chimney caps should be swapped if in poor condition.
Does The Home Depot sell doorbell cameras?
Enjoy privacy, peace of mind, and safety with a wired or wireless doorbell camera. No more peeking through a peephole or window when you can watch visitors in real time. Some doorbell cams even let you talk to whoever is on your doorstep via your phone, which is useful for delivery people or to scare off wannabe porch pirates. Most cameras integrate with your smart home hub or app to give you flexible accessibility. Choose to save video clips for future reference as needed and worry less with more control.
