How do I rent a tool or moving truck?
Stop by your local Rental Center to see what trucks and tools are up for rent. If you'd like confirmation before you drive there, call first to inquire about a truck or tool. How long can I rent tools?
You can rent a tool for four hours or more. Simply choose the length of time that suits you. Small home improvement jobs may only require a rental for a few hours, and long-term jobs are no problem. You've got options to rent tools by the week, month, or day, too. If you need it longer than your initial rental period, call the Rental Center for an extension and avoid late fees.
When can I bring the tools back?
You're welcome to return the tools early if you complete your project ahead of schedule, but on-time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off mud and grime from the tool as well. If you need them longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.
Can I rent a truck for a few hours?
Rent a truck or cargo van for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes might be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on how long your project is. Don't forget to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you must return it to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Make sure to read the contract before choosing a vehicle.
Should I refill the rental truck with gas before I bring it back?
Yes, please fill up the truck before you return it. Match the level of gas that was in the tank when you received the rental. When you don't refill the truck, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Can I rent a truck with only a driver's license?
No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be over the age of 21. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements.
