Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting lead acid batteries, rechargeable batteries, plastic plant pots, and CFLs for recycling.
Home Depot stores sent approximately 5.3 million pounds of shredded paper for recycling in 2022. This helped the planet by preserving over 63,500 trees, keeping over 16,000 trash bags of solid waste out of landfills, saving over 50 million gallons of water, and conserving 7.8 million kilowatt hours of electricity.
Since 2010, we have decreased electricity consumption by over 52% in our U.S. stores.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our associates and customers, and this commitment extends beyond our stores to the environment and our local communities. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Learn more about our commitment to economic responsibility.

What kinds of moving boxes do you carry?
Make moving or storage easier by picking up an assortment of moving boxes. We've got the sizes you need, including specialty ones like wardrobe and TV boxes. Cushion any and all items with moving blankets and bubble cushion to ensure your belongings make it to your next location safely. Look into our moving truck rentals, too, and take care of your DIY move needs in one place.
Do I need a generator?
Having a generator means you're prepared for whatever circumstances Mother Nature throws at you. Whether dealing with blizzards, severe thunderstorms, hurricanes, tornados, or strong winds, a portable generator lets you enjoy power after the elements knock it out. When exploring different generators for sale, remember that portable generators are more affordable and generate more electricity than inverter generators, but they're louder and heavier. Always run your generators outside, away from windows and doors, for safety purposes.
How can I prepare my home for fluctuating spring temperatures?
Ready your home for spring temperature swings by replacing any broken or faulty parts of your home and hardscaping. If water freezes in any crevices, you could be in for major repairs later. On the outside of your home, examine shingles or metal roofs for damage or rust that could let water leak in. Gutters should be clear and functional to prevent ice dams if you're prone to frozen precip as the seasons change. Check brickwork and cinder block for cracks, and ensure indoor ceiling tiles are free from water damage and missing pieces. Lastly, vinyl siding and chimney caps should be swapped if they're damaged.
What benefits do doorbell cameras have?
Enjoy privacy, peace of mind, and safety with a wireless or wired doorbell camera. No more peeking through a nearby window or peephole when you can watch visitors in real time. Some doorbell cams even let you chat remotely via your phone, which is useful for delivery people or to scare off wannabe porch pirates. Several cameras integrate with your smart home hub or app to give you flexible and easy accessibility. Choose to save video clips for future reference and worry less with more control.
