The Home Depot Rental Center at Monument

When it's time to make the leap into a big DIY project, you might not have everything you need in your garage. Don't let that stop you when you can stop by The Home Depot Monument Tool Rental Center.

Tool Rental
Our tool and equipment rental options expand your toolbelt and toolbox with the precise tools you need to complete a DIY job. It's impractical to purchase a specialized tool when you're only using it once in a while. When you're searching for a new tool, try it out before you select which one to buy. Whatever your situation, we have the tools you're looking for.

Make Painting Easier with Rental Scaffolding and Ladders
Make the most of warmer weather to paint outdoors. Rent paint sprayers to get professional coverage and work much faster than you would with a brush or roller and a paint tray. Ladder rentals help you reach high places when painting fences, houses, and sheds. We carry extension ladders and step ladders for medium or smaller jobs, so you won't have to wait when you're feeling motivated to check that job off the to-do list.

Rent Shop Vacuums, Floor Sanders, and Post Hole Diggers
Tackle major projects with robust power tool rentals. Get your garden bed ready for spring with a tiller rental or ensure fresh sod lays just right with a sod cutter rental. Construct a new fence around your pool or property more efficiently with a post hole digger rental, then use other concrete tools to securely set your fence posts.

Cargo Van and Truck Rentals
To move large tool rentals or anything else, we keep trucks of all kinds ready to roll. Although availability varies by store, we've got a selection ranging from pickups to flatbeds to cargo vans. You're sure to find the right size for your DIY project so you can keep your timeline running smoothly. As your source for packing, DIY projects, and storage needs, it's easy to make us your source for truck rental as well.

Box Truck Rentals
When you need a 12-foot box truck for a small move, we've got just what you need. It's a great solution for cross-town moves. Use it for transporting extra belongings to a storage space as well. Get your truck, pack it full, then return it to that same store when you're done.

Penske Moving Trucks
You trust us with your home improvement jobs. Do the same when it's time to move across the country. We offer Penske moving trucks ranging from 12-foot to 26-foot lengths. Use our trucks to haul all your belongings — from a dorm to a city apartment to a 3-bedroom home, and anything in between.

Large Equipment Rentals
Handle massive projects with professional equipment. Our large equipment rentals give you the power you need to finish the job yourself. From the boom lifts to give you a boost to the mini skid steers capable of hauling materials on outdoor job sites, we've got an expansive variety of equipment available. If a large equipment rental could help you, explore our selection to see what we've got in stock.

Although we're mentioning specific truck, tool, and large equipment rentals, our rental center may not have everything on hand for your required time frame. If you've got a particular tool in mind, please contact your local rental center to see where you can pick it up.

Frequently Asked Questions about Rentals

How do I rent large equipment, tools, or trucks?

Stop by the Rental Center at your nearest Home Depot to see what trucks or tools you can rent. If you want confirmation before you drive there, call first to inquire about a tool, truck, or large equipment. You could also read our truck rental or tool and equipment rental pages to see if what you need is available at your store. For more details on renting tools or large equipment, read these Tool Rental FAQs, which includes terms and conditions for the equipment.

Can I rent large equipment or a tool for an hour?

Large equipment rentals and tool rentals start at four hour time slots. Simply choose the length of time that suits you. Small home improvement projects may only require a rental for a few hours, and major projects aren't a problem either. You've got options to rent tools by the month, week, or day, too. If you need it longer than your initial rental period, call your Rental Center to arrange an extension and avoid late fees.

When do I return the tools?

You can return the tools early if you complete your project faster than planned, but on-time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off dust, mud, and grime from the tool as well. If you need it longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.

Can I choose how long to rent a truck?

Rent a truck or cargo van for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes could be enough time. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on how long your project is. Remember to factor in the drive between the store and the job site, as you must bring it back to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Be sure to read the contract before choosing your vehicle.

Should I refill the rental truck before I bring it back?

Yes, please fill up the truck before you bring it back. Make a note of the amount of gas in the tank when you receive the truck, and be sure to fill it with enough gas to match that level. When you don't refill the truck, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.

Can I rent a truck or large equipment with only a driver's license?

No, you also need to be 21 or older, in addition to holding a valid driver's license. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck. Select tools as well as large equipment also require ID verification via CLEAR.

Do I need to go get my rented large equipment?

Depending on your location, you can get large equipment dropped off and picked up from your job site for a reasonable cost — whether that's out in the field or at your own home. We'll need at least 24 hours notice so we can prepare your rental delivery for you and you'll need to rent it for a full day. Speak to an associate for the best way to get your large equipment.

How do I avoid penalties and extra fees on rented large equipment?

Think of your large equipment rentals as any other vehicle: Make sure you obey traffic laws and it's parked legally. Read the operator's manual so you're using it correctly to avoid injuring yourself or damaging the equipment. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are, as cancelling within 12 hours of delivery means you'll incur a cancellation fee. Make sure to return equipment by the deadline or extend the rental period to accommodate the extra hours or days you require.
