Take on any new home improvement project with the tools you need — even if you don't have them on hand. Rent power tools, use them, and return them when you're done. You're free to complete your project without taking up valuable workshop storage with tools you rarely reach for.
Tool and Equipment Rental
Using The Home Depot Moreno Valley Tool Rental Center helps you handle more complex DIY projects. No more old hand-me-down tools that limit what you can do. Rent the tools to finish your project safely. If your local store doesn't have the needed tool in stock, it could be at another one within driving distance.
Add Insulation When the Weather is Cooler
For a more energy-efficient home, replace your insulation in the spring — before it gets dangerously hot in your attic. Rent specialized equipment for insulation to get it installed correctly. Decide between a fiberglass blower or a cellulose insulation blower, and insulate those nooks and crannies with ease. You'll enjoy a more consistent home temperature and steadier utility bills with new insulation.
Tame the Bushes and Lawn Early
Lighten the load with outdoor power equipment rentals and whip the yard into shape again. Neaten around the garden and bushes with rental lawn mowers and string trimmers, and get that sidewalk and driveway clean again with a pressure washer rental. Your outdoor oasis will be ready for new spring flowers before you know it.
Truck and Cargo Van Rentals
For transporting large tool rentals or anything else, we keep trucks of all kinds on hand. Although availability varies by store, we've got a selection ranging from pickup trucks to flatbeds to cargo vans. We'll have the right size for your DIY project so you can keep your timeline running smoothly. As your trusted source for DIY jobs, it's easy to make us your source for truck rental as well.
Box Truck and Penske Moving Truck Rentals
If it's time to move to a new home, we can help with that. Explore our rental box trucks. We also offer Penske moving trucks in sizes ranging from 12-feet to 26-feet, but as always, availability varies by store. Our box trucks have different rental requirements and sizes than Penske moving trucks, so check our FAQ or speak to an Orange Apron to make sure you choose the right rental truck for you.
Large Equipment Rentals
Complete expansive projects with the right professional equipment. Our large equipment rentals give you the power you need to finish the job. From the boom and scissor lifts to give you a boost to the mini excavators and skid steers capable of hauling materials on outdoor job sites, we've got a surprising variety of equipment available. If a large equipment rental could help you, explore our selection to see what we've got in stock.
Although we're mentioning popular truck, large equipment, and tool rentals, not everything is available at every rental center. If you've got a particular tool in mind, please contact your local rental center to see where you can pick it up.
How do I rent trucks, tools, or large equipment?
Stop by your local Rental Center to see which trucks or tools you can rent. If you want to be sure of what's in stock, call first to inquire about a truck, tool, or large equipment. You may also read our truck rental or tool and equipment rental pages to see if what you need is offered at your store. For more on renting tools or large equipment, read these Tool Rental FAQs, including equipment terms and conditions.
Can I rent a tool or large equipment for a month?
You can rent a tool or large equipment for four hours or more. Simply choose the length of time that suits you. Small DIY projects may only require a rental for a few hours, and we can accommodate large projects as well. You've got options to rent tools by the month, day, or week, too. If you need it longer than your initial rental period, call the Rental Center for an extension and avoid late fees.
When can I bring the tools back?
It's fine to return the tools early if you finish your project faster than planned, but on-time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off any mud or dirt from the tool as well. If you need the tools longer, call your rental center to see if you can extend your rental period.
Can I rent a truck for a week?
Rent a box truck, cargo van, or flatbed truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes might be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on the length of your project. Remember to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you'll need to bring it back to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Make sure to read the contract before selecting a vehicle.
Do I need to refill the rental truck with gas?
Yes, please fill up the truck before you return it. Note the fuel level when you receive the truck, and fill it with enough gas to match that level. When you don't refill the truck, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Can I rent a truck or large equipment with only a driver's license?
No, you also need to be 21 or older, in addition to holding a valid driver's license. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck. Select tools as well as large equipment also require ID verification via CLEAR.
Do I need to go get my rented large equipment?
Depending on your location, you may be able to get large equipment delivered straight to your job site for a reasonable cost — whether that's out in the field or at your own home. We'll need at least 24 hours notice so we can prepare your rental delivery for you and you'll need to rent it for a full day. In places where delivery isn't available, speak to an associate for the best way to get your large equipment.
How do I avoid extra fees and penalties on rented large equipment?
Think of your large equipment rentals as any other vehicle: Make sure it's parked legally and you obey traffic laws. Read the manual so you're using it correctly to avoid damaging the equipment or injuring yourself. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are, as cancelling within 12 hours of delivery means you'll incur a cancellation fee. Make sure to return equipment by the deadline or extend the rental period to accommodate the extra time you require.
