Take on any DIY project with the tools you need — even if you don't own them. Rent tools, use them, and take them back when you're done. You can finish your project without cluttering up your garage or shed with tools you only need every so often.
Tool Rental
Using The Home Depot N Fort Worth Tool Rental Center helps you handle more complex DIY projects. No more old hand-me-down tools that limit what you can do. Rent the tools to finish your project safely. If your local store doesn't have the tool in stock, it might be at another store within driving distance.
A Comfortable Workspace is a Productive One
Get ready to beat the heat before it hits. We've got ways to help keep your workspace comfortably cool so you can get more done. We carry generators to run rental air conditioners, fans, and all your large power tools.
Tame the Lawn and Trees Early
Greet the spring with outdoor power equipment rentals and whip the yard into shape again. Neaten the yard with a rental lawn mower and leaf blower rental, the trees and hedges with a chainsaw rental, and the sidewalks with a rental pressure washer. Your outdoor oasis will be refreshed and ready for new spring flowers in no time.
Cargo Van and Truck Rentals
For your transport needs, we keep trucks of all kinds ready to roll. Although availability varies by store, we've got a selection ranging from flatbeds to pickups to cargo vans. We'll have the correct size for your DIY project so you can keep your timeline running smoothly. As your source for DIY projects, storage needs, and packing, it's smart to make us your source for truck rental as well.
Box Truck and Penske Moving Truck Rentals
If it's time to move to a new home, let us help with that as well. Explore our rental box trucks. We also offer Penske moving trucks ranging from 12-foot to 26-foot lengths, but as always, availability varies from store to store. Use our trucks to haul all your belongings — from everything in a college dorm to the contents of a 4-bedroom house. Penske moving trucks have different sizes and rental requirements than our box trucks, so check out the FAQ or speak to an Orange Apron to ensure you find the right rental truck for you.
Large Equipment Rentals
Complete massive projects with the right professional power equipment. Our large equipment rentals give you the power you need. From the boom lifts and scissor lifts to give you a boost to the mini skid steers and excavators for hauling materials, we've got a surprising variety of equipment available. If a large equipment rental could help you, explore and see what we've got in stock.
Although we're calling out specific truck, large equipment, and tool rentals, our rental center may not have everything on hand for your required time frame. If you've got a particular item in mind, please contact your local rental center to see where you can pick it up.
How do I rent large equipment, trucks, or tools?
Stop by your local Rental Center to see what's available. If you want confirmation before you drive there, call first to inquire about a truck, tool, or large equipment. You can also read our tool and equipment rental or truck rental pages to see if what you need is in stock at your favorite store. For more information on renting tools or large equipment, read these Tool Rental FAQs, including equipment terms and conditions.
Can I rent large equipment or a tool for a day?
You can rent large equipment or tools for four hours or more. Simply choose the length of time that suits you. Small home improvement projects may only require a short rental period, and long-term projects can also be accommodated. You've got options to rent tools by the day, week, or month, too. If you need it longer than your initial rental period, call your Rental Center to arrange an extension and avoid late fees.
When do I bring the tools back?
You can return the tools early if you complete your project ahead of schedule, but on-time works, too. As long as you return it by the deadline you were given when you rented it, you'll be good to go. Please clean off residual dust, mud, and grime from the tool as well. If you need the tools longer, call the rental center to see if you can extend your rental period.
Can I rent a truck for a few hours?
Rent a cargo van, box truck, or pickup truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes could be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on how long your project is. Don't forget to factor in the drive between the job site and the store, as you'll need to bring it back to the same store where you rented it. Penske moving truck rentals allow one-way rentals as well as round-trip options, and they have different terms. Make sure to read the provided documentation before you select a vehicle.
Do I need to refuel the rental truck when I'm done?
Yes, please fill up the truck before you bring it back. Make a note of the fuel level when you receive the truck, and fill it with enough gas to match that same level. If you don't, you'll be hit with a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Do I just need a driver's license to rent a truck or large equipment?
No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be 21 or older. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements. Large equipment or select tools also require ID verification via CLEAR.
Do I need to pick up my rented large equipment from the store?
Depending on your location, you can get large equipment dropped off at your job site for an affordable rate — whether that's at your home or out in the field. We'll need at least 24 hours notice so we can adequately prepare your rented equipment and you'll need to rent it for a full day. In places where delivery isn't available, speak to an associate for the best way to get your large equipment.
What are some ways to avoid penalties and extra fees on my large equipment rentals?
Think of your rented large equipment as any other vehicle: Make sure you obey traffic laws and it's parked legally. Read the manual so you're using it correctly to avoid damaging the equipment or injuring yourself. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are. If you cancel within 12 hours of your scheduled delivery, you'll pay a cancellation fee. Extend your rental period if you need extra time so you won't get dinged with a late fee.
