The Home Depot Rental Center at N Fresno

When you're beginning to make the leap into a major DIY project, you might not have all the required tools in your workshop or garage. That's when you should stop by The Home Depot N Fresno Tool Rental Center.

Tool Rental
Our tool rental options expand your toolbox and toolbelt with the exact tools you need to complete your project. It's impractical to get a specific tool when you're not using it often. When you're thinking about buying a new tool, do a trial run first before you choose which one to purchase. Whatever your situation, we have the tools you're looking for.

Rent Post Hole Diggers, Shop Vacuums, and Floor Sanders
Tackle major projects with reliable power tool rentals. Take your scuffed wooden floor to the next level with a floor sander rental and a shop vacuum to get the floors smooth and ready for refinishing. Construct a new fence around your pool or property more efficiently with a post hole digger rental, then use other concrete tools that suit your job.

Make Painting Easier with Rental Scaffolding and Ladders
Gorgeous spring days are a great time to tackle outdoor painting projects. Renew surfaces with a fresh coat of paint. Whether you need scaffolding rentals for painting a house, or rental ladders for painting fences, or a paint sprayer rental for professional coverage, we have what you need.

Truck Rental
For your transport needs, we keep cargo vans and trucks on hand — with availability varying by store. We also offer Penske moving trucks in sizes ranging from 12-feet to 26-feet at certain stores. We'll have the correct size truck rental for your DIY project so you can keep your job on track. As your trusted source for storage, packing, and DIY, it's smart to make us your go-to source for moving and transport as well.

Large Equipment Rentals
Complete expansive projects with professional power equipment. Our large equipment rentals give you the power you need to finish the job yourself. From the boom lifts and scissor lifts to give you a boost to the mini excavators capable of hauling materials on outdoor job sites, we've got an expansive variety of equipment available. If a large equipment rental could help you, explore our selection to see what we've got in stock.

Although we're mentioning popular large equipment, truck, and tool rentals, not everything is available at every rental center. If you've got a particular piece of equipment in mind, please contact your local rental center to see where you can pick it up.

Frequently Asked Questions about Rentals

How do I rent a truck, tool, or piece of large equipment?

Stop by the Rental Center at your nearest Home Depot to see what's available. If you'd like confirmation before you drive there, call first to inquire about a tool, truck, or large equipment. You could also read our tool and equipment rental or truck rental pages to see if what you need is carried at your store. For more information on renting tools or large equipment, read our Tool Rental FAQs, which includes terms and conditions for the equipment.

Can I rent large equipment or a tool for a month?

Tool rentals and large equipment rentals start at four hour time slots. It depends on how long you'd like to rent them. Small DIY jobs may only require a short rental period, and we can accommodate large projects as well. You've got options to rent large equipment and tools by the day, month, or week, too. If you need it longer than your initial rental period, call the Rental Center for an extension and avoid late fees.

When can I bring the tools back?

You're welcome to return the tools early if you complete your project faster than planned, but on-time works, too. As long as you return it by the deadline you were given when you rented it, you'll be good to go. Please clean off any mud or dirt from the tool as well. If you need the tools longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.

Can I rent a truck for a few hours?

Rent a box truck, cargo van, or flatbed truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes might be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on the length of your project. Remember to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you'll need to return it to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Be sure to read the provided documentation before choosing your vehicle.

Do I need to refill the rental truck with gas?

Yes, please fill up the truck before you bring it back. Note the fuel level when you receive the truck, and fill it with enough gas to match that level. If you don't, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.

Do I just need a driver's license to rent a truck or large equipment?

No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be 21 or older. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck. Large equipment or select tools also require ID verification via CLEAR.

Do I need to pick up my rented large equipment?

Depending on your location, you can get large equipment delivered and picked up from your job site for an affordable rate — whether that's at your home or out in the field. You'll need to rent it for one day or longer and provide us with 24 hours notice so we can adequately prepare your rented large equipment. Speak to an associate for the ideal way to get your large equipment.

What are some ways to avoid penalties and extra fees on rented large equipment?

Treat your large equipment rentals as any other vehicle: Make sure you obey traffic laws and it's parked legally. Read the operator's manual so you're using it correctly to avoid injuring yourself or damaging the equipment. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are, as cancelling within 12 hours of delivery means you'll incur a cancellation fee. Extend your rental period if you need extra time so you won't get hit with a late fee.
