Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting lead acid batteries, rechargeable batteries, plastic plant pots, and CFLs for recycling.
Our stores sent approximately 5.3M pounds of shredded paper for recycling in 2022. This has helped the planet by preserving over 63.5K trees. It kept over 16K trash bags of solid waste out of landfills, saved over 50M gallons of water, and conserved 7.8M kilowatt hours of electricity.
We have decreased electricity consumption by over 52% in our U.S. stores since 2010.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our associates and customers, and this commitment extends beyond our stores to our communities, as well as the environment. Is it good to have a generator at home?
Having a generator means you're prepared for any circumstances life throws at you. Whether you're dealing with thunderstorms, snowstorms tornados, hurricanes, or strong winds, a portable generator lets you enjoy power after the elements take it out. When considering different generators for sale, don't forget that portable generators cost less and generate more electricity than inverter generators, but they're heavier and louder. For safety purposes, always run your generators outside, away from doors and windows.
How can I prepare my home for fluctuating spring temps?
Make sure your home is ready for spring temperature swings by repairing or replacing broken parts of your hardscaping and home. If water freezes in any crevices, you could have problems. Check brick and cinder blocks for cracks, and verify indoor ceiling tiles are free from water damage and missing pieces. On the outside of your home, examine roof shingles or metal roofing panels for damage or rust that could let water leak into your home. Gutters should be clear and functional to prevent ice dams if you're prone to frozen precip as the seasons change. Lastly, swap out vinyl siding and chimney caps if damaged.
Does The Home Depot sell doorbell cameras?
Enjoy privacy, safety, and peace of mind with a wireless or wired doorbell camera. No more peeking through the peephole or an adjacent window when you can watch human or animal visitors in real time. Some doorbell cams even let you chat remotely via your phone, which is useful to scare off would-be porch pirates or talk to delivery people. Most cameras integrate with your smart home app or hub to give you flexible and easy accessibility. Choose to save video clips for future reference as needed and worry less with more control.
