Can I rent tools by the hour?
You can rent a tool for four hours or more. It depends on how long you'd like to rent them. Small home improvement jobs may only require a short rental period, and we can accommodate large projects as well. You've got options to rent tools by the week, month, or day, too. If you need it longer than anticipated, call your Rental Center for an extension and avoid late fees.
When do I bring the tools back?
It's fine to return the tools early if you finish your project sooner than predicted, but on-time works, too. As long as you return it by the deadline you were given when you rented it, you'll be good to go. Please clean off any mud or dirt from the tool as well. If you need them longer, call the rental center to see if you can extend your rental period.
How long can I rent a truck?
Rent a moving van or truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes could be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on how long your project is. Remember to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you must bring it back to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Make sure to read the terms and conditions before selecting a van.
Do I need to refuel the rental truck when I'm done?
Yes, please fill up the truck before you bring it back. Match the level of gas that was in the tank when you got the rental. When you don't refill the rental truck, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Do I just need a driver's license to rent a truck?
No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be over the age of 21. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck.
