Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting rechargeable batteries, plastic plant pots, CFLs, and lead acid batteries for recycling.
Home Depot stores sent approximately 5.3 million pounds of shredded paper for recycling in 2022. This has helped the planet by preserving over 63,500 trees, keeping over 16,000 trash bags of solid waste out of landfills, saving over 50 million gallons of water, and conserving 7.8 million kilowatt hours of electricity.
LED lights in your local store saved on energy consumption by 98 million kilowatt hours. Many stores also participate in renewable energy initiatives like wind and solar.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our associates and customers, and this commitment extends beyond our stores to the environment and our local communities. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Learn more about our commitment to economic responsibility.

Do you carry small moving boxes?
Pick up an assortment of moving boxes to make your move easier. We've got the sizes you need, including specialty ones like wardrobe and TV boxes. Cushion your items with bubble cushion and moving blankets to ensure your belongings make it to your next location safely. Remember to check out our rental moving trucks if you need those, too.
Should I get an inverter generator or a portable generator?
We've got the options you need when searching for a generator for sale. Inverter generators are quieter and cleaner than traditional portable generators. They'll adjust to the required load, making more noise when they create more power. When shopping for generators for sale, remember that portable generators cost less and generate more electricity than inverter generators, but they're heavier and louder. For safety purposes, always run your generators outside, away from windows and doors.
What home repairs should I make sooner rather than later?
Ready your home for spring temperature swings by repairing or replacing broken parts of your hardscaping and home. If water freezes in the crevices, you could be in for a real headache. Check cinder block and brickwork for cracks, and ensure indoor ceiling tiles are free from missing pieces and water damage. On the outside of your home, examine roofing shingles or metal roofs for damage or rust that could let water in. Gutters should be cleaned to prevent ice dams if you're still prone to ice storms and snow. Lastly, swap out chimney caps and vinyl siding if damaged.
Why should I get a doorbell camera?
Enjoy safety, peace of mind, and privacy with a wireless or wired doorbell camera. No more peeking through a window or peephole when you can watch visitors in real time. Some doorbell cams even let you talk to whoever is on your doorstep via your phone, which is useful for delivery people or to scare off would-be porch pirates. Many cameras integrate with your smart home app or hub to give you flexible accessibility. Choose to save video clips for future reference as needed and worry less with more control.
