When you're preparing to dive into a big home improvement project, you might not have every tool you need in your shed or workshop. Don't let that stop you when you can stop by The Home Depot New Freedom Tool Rental Center.
Tool and Equipment Rental
Our tool rental choices expand your toolbox with the exact tools you need to complete your DIY project. It's impractical to keep a specific tool when you're not using it frequently. When you're thinking about buying a new tool, try it out first before you choose which one to purchase. Whatever your situation, we have the power tools you're looking for.
Tame the Lawn and Bushes Early
Greet the spring with outdoor power equipment rentals and whip the yard into shape again. Neaten around the garden and bushes with trimmers and rental lawn mowers, and get that driveway clean again with a pressure washer rental. Your outdoor oasis will be looking fresh and ready for new spring flowers before you know it.
Make Painting Easier with Ladder and Paint Sprayer Rentals
Gorgeous sunny days are a great time to tackle outdoor painting projects. Renew surfaces with a fresh coat of paint. Whether you need ladder rentals for painting fences, or scaffolding rentals for painting houses or sheds, or a paint sprayer rental for professional coverage, we have what you need.
Truck Rental
To move large tool rentals or anything else, we keep trucks and cargo vans ready for rental — with availability varying by store. You're sure to find the right size truck rental for your DIY project so you can keep your timeline running smoothly. As your trusted source for DIY jobs of all sizes, it's smart to make us your go-to source for transport and moving as well.
To get tools and transportation for your home improvement or DIY project, check out The Home Depot New Freedom Tool and Truck Rental Center. Having the correct tools for the job is important, so let us help. We're here to help you get that project done.
How do I rent a tool or moving truck?
Stop by your local Rental Center to see what trucks and tools are up for rent. If you want to be sure of what's in stock, call first to inquire about a tool or truck. You can also read our truck rental or tool and equipment rental pages to see if what you need is carried at your store. For more information on renting tools, read these Tool Rental FAQs, including equipment terms and conditions.
Can I rent a tool for a week?
You can rent a tool for four hours or more. Simply choose the length of time that suits you. Small DIY projects may only require a rental for a few hours, and we can accommodate large projects as well. You've got options to rent tools by the week, month, or day, too. If you need it longer than anticipated, call your Rental Center for an extension and avoid late fees.
When can I bring the tools back?
You can return the tools early if you finish your project faster than planned, but on-time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off residual dust, mud, and grime from the tool as well. If you need it longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.
Can I rent a truck for a week?
Rent a truck or cargo van for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes could be enough time. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on how long your project is. Don't forget to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you'll need to bring it back to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow one-way rentals as well as round-trip options, and they have different terms. Make sure to read the terms and conditions before selecting a truck.
Do I need to refill the rental truck with gas?
Yes, please fuel up the truck before you return it. Make a note of the amount of gas in the tank when you receive the truck, and be sure to fill it with enough gas to match that same level. When you don't refill the rental truck, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Can I rent a truck with only a driver's license?
No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be 21 or older. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a credit card hold or a deposit, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements.
