Take on any new DIY project with the right tools — even if you don't own them. Rent the tools, use them, and return them when you're done. You're free to finish your project without taking up valuable garage or workshop storage with tools you rarely use.
Tool Rental
The Home Depot Tool Rental Center in North Fontana lets you do more complex DIY projects. No more old hand-me-down tools that limit what you can do. Rent the tools to finish your project safely. If your local store doesn't have the tool you need in stock, you may be able to find it at another one within driving distance.
Tame the Lawn and Trees Early
Greet the spring with outdoor power equipment rentals and whip the yard into shape again. Neaten the yard with a rental lawn mower and leaf blower rental, the trees and hedges with a chainsaw rental, and the sidewalks and driveway with a rental pressure washer. Your outdoor oasis will be refreshed and ready for new spring flowers in no time.
Add Insulation When the Weather is Cooler
For a more energy-efficient home, add another layer to your insulation in the spring, if possible — before it gets dangerously hot in your attic. Rent equipment made for insulation to install it correctly. Choose from a cellulose insulation blower or a fiberglass blower, and get those nooks and crannies insulated properly. Help keep your heating and cooling bills under control with new insulation that maintains your home's temperature.
Rental Trucks
If it's time to get started on your move but you need to rent a truck to do it, visit The Home Depot Truck Rental Center. From flatbed and pickup trucks to box trucks and Penske moving trucks, we've got the transportation you need. Get the right size for your DIY project so you can keep your job on track. Rent a truck to check off more DIY jobs from your list. Check with your local rental center for availability, as it is subject to change.
Large Equipment Rentals
Handle expansive projects with the right pro equipment. Our large equipment rentals give you the power you need. From the scissor and boom lifts to give you a boost to the skid steers capable of hauling materials on outdoor job sites, we've got an expansive variety of equipment available. If a large equipment rental could help you, explore and see what we've got in stock.
Although we're mentioning specific large equipment, tool, and truck rentals, our rental center may not have everything on hand for your required time frame. If you've got a particular tool in mind, please contact your local rental center to see where you can pick it up.
How do I rent large equipment, tools, or trucks?
Stop by your local Rental Center to see what tools and trucks are up for rent. If you'd like confirmation before you drive there, call first to inquire about a truck, tool, or large equipment. You could also read our truck rental or tool and equipment rental pages to see if what you need is carried at your store. For more information on renting large equipment or tools, read these Tool Rental FAQs, which includes equipment terms and conditions.
Can I rent large equipment or tools by the hour?
Large equipment rentals and tool rentals start at four hour time slots. Simply choose the length of time that suits you. Small home improvement jobs may only require a rental that's a few hours long, and bigger jobs can also be accommodated. You've got options to rent large equipment and tools by the day, week, or month, too. If you need it longer than your initial rental period, call the Rental Center to arrange an extension and avoid late fees.
When do I return the tools?
You're welcome to return the tools early if you complete your project faster than planned, but on-time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off residual dust, mud, and grime from the tool as well. If you need it longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.
Can I rent a truck for a week?
Rent a box truck, cargo van, or flatbed truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes could be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on how long your project is. Don't forget to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you must bring it back to the same store where you rented it. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Be sure to read the terms and conditions before you choose a vehicle.
Should I refill the rental truck before I bring it back?
Yes, please fuel up the truck before you bring it back. Make a note of the amount of gas in the tank when you receive the truck, and fill it with enough gas to match that same level. When you don't refill the vehicle, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Can I rent a truck or large equipment with only a driver's license?
No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be over the age of 21. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a credit card hold or a deposit, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements. Select tools as well as large equipment also require ID verification via CLEAR.
Do I need to go get my large equipment rental?
Depending on your location, you can get large equipment dropped off at your job site for an affordable rate — at your home or out in the field. You'll need to rent it for one day or longer and provide us with 24 hours notice so we can adequately prepare your rented large equipment. In places where delivery isn't available, speak to an associate for the best way to get your large equipment.
What are some ways to avoid extra fees and penalties on my large equipment rentals?
Think of your rented large equipment as any other vehicle: Make sure you obey traffic laws and it's parked legally. Read the operator's manual so you're using it correctly to avoid injuring yourself or damaging the equipment. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are. If you cancel within 12 hours of your scheduled delivery, you'll pay a cancellation fee. Extend your rental period if you need extra time so you won't get hit with a late fee.
