The Home Depot Rental Center at Norwood

When you're beginning to dive into a major DIY project, you might not have everything you need in the workshop or garage. That's when you should stop by The Home Depot Tool Rental Center in Norwood.

Tool Rental
Our tool rental options expand your toolbox with the exact tools you require to complete your DIY project. It's impractical to keep a specialized tool when you're only using it once in a while. When you're thinking about getting a new tool, try it out before you decide which one to buy. Whatever your situation, we have just what you're looking for.

Rent Post Hole Diggers, Floor Sanders, and Shop Vacuums
Tackle major jobs with robust power tools. Use a rental tiller to get your garden bed ready for planting or ensure fresh sod lays just right with a sod cutter. Construct a new fence around your home more efficiently with a post hole digger rental, then use other concrete tools that suit the job at hand.

Make Painting Easier with Rental Scaffolding and Ladders
Gorgeous spring days are a great time to tackle outdoor painting projects. Renew surfaces with a fresh coat of paint. Whether you need ladder rentals for painting fences, or scaffolding rentals for painting houses or sheds, or a paint sprayer rental for professional coverage, we have what you need.

Truck Rental
If it's time to get going on your DIY project but you need a truck to do it, come to The Home Depot Truck Rental Center. From cargo vans and pickup trucks to Penske moving trucks and box trucks, we've got the transportation you need. We'll have the correct size for your project so you can keep your job on track. Rent a truck to check off more DIY jobs from your list. Check with your local rental center for availability, as it is subject to change.

Large Equipment Rentals
Complete massive projects with pro equipment. Our large equipment rentals give you the power you need to finish the job. From the boom lifts and scissor lifts to give you a boost to the mini skid steers capable of hauling materials on outdoor job sites, we've got an expansive variety of equipment available. If a large equipment rental could help you, explore our selection to see what we've got in stock.

Although we're calling out specific tool, truck, and large equipment rentals, our rental center may not have everything on hand for your required time frame. If you've got a particular piece of equipment in mind, please contact your local rental center to see where you can pick it up.

Frequently Asked Questions about Rentals

How do I rent large equipment, trucks, or tools?

Stop by the Rental Center at your nearest Home Depot to see which tools or trucks you can rent. If you'd like confirmation before you drive there, call first to inquire about a tool, truck, or large equipment. You may also visit our tool and equipment rental or truck rental pages to see if what you need is in stock at your favorite store. For more info on renting large equipment or tools, read our Tool Rental FAQs, including equipment terms and conditions.

Can I rent tools or large equipment by the hour?

Tool rentals and large equipment rentals start at four hour time slots. Simply choose the length of time that suits you. Small DIY projects may only require a rental for a few hours, and we can accommodate large projects as well. You've got options to rent tools by the month, week, or day, too. If you need it longer than your initial rental period, call the Rental Center to arrange an extension and avoid late fees.

When do I return the tools?

It's fine to return the tools early if you complete your project ahead of schedule, but on-time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off any grime and dust from the tool as well. If you need it longer, call your local rental center to see if you can extend your rental period.

Can I choose how long to rent a truck?

Rent a box truck, cargo van, or flatbed truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes might be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on the length of your project. Don't forget to factor in the drive between the store and the job site, as you must bring it back to the same store where you rented it. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Make sure to read the contract before choosing your truck.

Do I need to refill the rental truck with gas?

Yes, please fill up the truck before you bring it back. Match the amount of gas that was in the tank when you received the rental. When you don't refill the truck, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.

Can I rent large equipment or a truck with only a driver's license?

No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be over the age of 21. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck. Large equipment or select tools also require ID verification via CLEAR.

How do I receive my large equipment rental?

Depending on your location, you can get large equipment delivered straight to your job site for an affordable rate — whether that's at your home or out in the field. You'll need to rent it for one day or longer and provide us with 24 hours notice so we can adequately prepare your rented large equipment. Speak to an associate for the ideal way to get your large equipment.

What are some ways to avoid extra fees and penalties on my large equipment rentals?

Treat your rented large equipment as any other vehicle: Make sure it's parked legally and you obey traffic laws. Read the operator's manual so you're using it correctly to avoid damaging the equipment or injuring yourself. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are, as cancelling within 12 hours of delivery means you'll incur a cancellation fee. Make sure to return equipment by the deadline or extend the rental period to accommodate the extra time you require.
