When you're starting to leap into a major DIY job, you might not have every tool you need in your shed or workshop. Don't let that stop you when you can stop by The Home Depot Odessa Tool Rental Center.
Tool Rental
Our tool rental options expand your toolbelt and toolbox with the precise tools you need to complete the job. It's not practical to purchase a specific tool when you're rarely reaching for it. When you're looking for a new tool, give it a spin first before you choose which one to purchase. Whatever your situation, we have the power tools you're looking for.
Make Painting Easier with Rental Scaffolding and Ladders
Take advantage of warmer weather to paint outdoors. Rent paint sprayers to get professional coverage and work much faster than you would with a brush or roller and a paint tray. Rent ladders and scaffolding to reach elevated locations when painting fences, houses, and sheds. We carry extension ladders and step ladders for medium or smaller jobs, so you won't have to wait when you're feeling motivated to check that job off the to-do list.
Rent Post Hole Diggers, Floor Sanders, and Shop Vacuums
Tackle major jobs with reliable power tool rentals. Take your scuffed hardwood to the next level with a floor sander rental and a wet/dry vacuum rental to get the floors smooth and ready for refinishing. Construct a new fence around your pool or property faster with a post hole digger rental, then utilize other concrete tools to securely set your fence posts.
Cargo Van and Truck Rentals
For transporting large tool rentals or anything else, we keep trucks of all kinds rental ready. Although availability varies by store, we've got a selection ranging from pickup trucks to cargo vans to flatbed trucks. You're sure to find the correct size for your DIY project so you can keep your timeline running smoothly. As your source for packing, DIY projects, and storage needs, it's smart to make us your go-to source for truck rental as well.
Box Truck and Penske Moving Truck Rentals
If it's time to move to a new home, we can help with that as well. Explore our rental box trucks. We also offer Penske moving trucks ranging from 12-foot to 26-foot lengths, but as always, availability varies by store. Box trucks have different sizes and rental requirements than Penske moving trucks, so check our FAQ or speak to an associate to ensure you find the right rental truck for you.
Large Equipment Rentals
Complete massive projects with the right pro equipment. Our large equipment rentals give you the power you need. From the boom lifts to give you a boost to the skid steers capable of hauling materials on outdoor job sites, we've got an expansive variety of equipment available. If a large equipment rental could help you, explore our selection to see what we've got in stock.
Although we're mentioning specific tool, large equipment, and truck rentals, not everything is available at every rental center. If you've got a particular item in mind, please contact your local rental center to see where you can pick it up.
How do I rent trucks, tools, or large equipment?
Stop by the Rental Center at your nearest Home Depot to see what trucks and tools are up for rent. If you want confirmation before you drive there, call first to inquire about a truck, tool, or large equipment. You can also read our tool and equipment rental or truck rental pages to see if what you need is in stock at your favorite store. For more details on renting large equipment or tools, read the Tool Rental FAQs, including equipment terms and conditions.
Can I rent a tool or large equipment for an hour?
Large equipment rentals and tool rentals start at four hour time slots. It depends on how long you'd like to rent them. Small home improvement jobs may only require a rental for a few hours, and we can accommodate large projects as well. You've got options to rent tools by the month, day, or week, too. If you need it longer than what you signed up for, call your Rental Center to arrange an extension and avoid late fees.
When do I return the tools?
You're welcome to return the tools early if you complete your project ahead of schedule, but on-time works, too. As long as you return it by the deadline you were given when you rented it, you'll be good to go. Please clean off residual dust, mud, and grime from the tool as well. If you need it longer, call your rental center to see if you can extend your rental period.
Can I choose how long to rent a truck?
Rent a cargo van, box truck, or pickup truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes could be enough time. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on the length of your project. Remember to factor in the drive between the job site and the store, as you must return it to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Make sure to read the terms and conditions before choosing your truck.
Do I need to refill the rental truck with gas?
Yes, please fill up the truck before you return it. Match the level of gas that was in the tank when you got the rental. When you don't refill the truck, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Do I just need a driver's license to rent large equipment or a truck?
No, you also need to be 21 or older, in addition to holding a valid driver's license. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck. Large equipment or select tools also require ID verification via CLEAR.
Do I need to go get my rented large equipment from the store?
Depending on your location, you can get large equipment delivered to your job site for a reasonable cost — whether that's at your home or out in the field. You'll need to rent it for one day or longer and provide us with 24 hours notice so we can adequately prepare your rented large equipment. Speak to an associate for the ideal way to get your large equipment.
How do I avoid extra fees and penalties on my large equipment rentals?
Think of your large equipment rentals as any other vehicle: Make sure it's parked legally and you obey traffic laws. Read the operator's manual so you're using it correctly to avoid injuring yourself or damaging the equipment. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are. If you cancel within 12 hours of your scheduled delivery, you'll pay a cancellation fee. Make sure to return equipment by the deadline or extend the rental period to accommodate the extra time you require.
