Take on any new DIY project with the tools you need — even if you don't have them on hand. Rent the tools, use them, and bring them back when you're done. Finish your project without cluttering up valuable shed or garage storage with tools you only need once in a while.
Tool and Equipment Rental
Using The Home Depot Old Bridge II Tool Rental Center helps you handle larger DIY projects. No more old hand-me-down tools that limit what you can do. Rent quality tools to complete your project safely and confidently. If your local store doesn't have the tool you need in stock, it might be at another store within driving distance.
A Comfortable Workspace is a Productive One
Get ahead of summer heat by prepping in the springtime. Let us help keep your workspace comfortable and cool so you can get more done. We have generators to run fans, rental air conditioners, and all your large power tools.
Tame the Greenery and Lawn Early
Greet the spring with outdoor power equipment rentals and whip the yard into shape again. Neaten the yard with a rental lawn mower and leaf blower rental, the trees and hedges with a chainsaw, and the driveway with a rental pressure washer. Your outdoor oasis will be ready for new spring flowers in no time.
Cargo Van and Truck Rentals
To move large equipment rentals, we keep trucks of all kinds on hand. Although availability varies by store, we've got a selection ranging from flatbeds to cargo vans to pickups. Choose the right size for your project so you can keep your timeline running smoothly. As your trusted source for DIY projects, storage needs, and packing, it's smart to make us your source for truck rental as well.
Box Truck and Penske Moving Truck Rentals
If it's time to relocate to a new home, we can help with that as well. Explore our rental box trucks. We also offer Penske moving trucks ranging from 12-foot to 26-foot lengths, but as always, availability varies by store. Use our trucks to haul all your belongings — from everything in a college dorm to the contents of a 4-bedroom house. Our Penske moving trucks have different rental requirements and sizes than our box trucks, so check the FAQ or speak to an Orange Apron to make sure you choose the right rental truck for you.
Large Equipment Rentals
Complete expansive projects with professional power equipment. Our large equipment rentals give you the power you need. From the scissor lifts and boom lifts to give you a boost to the mini skid steers and mini excavators for hauling materials, we've got an expansive variety of equipment available. If a large equipment rental could help you, explore and see what we've got in stock.
Although we're calling out specific truck, tool, and large equipment rentals, not everything is available at every rental center. If you've got a particular item in mind, please contact your local rental center to see where you can pick it up.
How do I rent a piece of large equipment, a tool, or a truck?
Stop by the Rental Center at your nearest Home Depot to see which trucks or tools you can rent. If you'd like to be sure of what's in stock, call first to inquire about a tool, truck, or large equipment. You might also read our tool and equipment rental or truck rental pages to see if what you need is at your store. For more on renting large equipment or tools, read the Tool Rental FAQs, including equipment terms and conditions.
How long can I rent tools or large equipment?
Large equipment rentals and tool rentals start at four hour time slots. It depends on how long you'd like to rent them. Small home improvement jobs may only require a rental that's a few hours long, and long-term jobs can also be accommodated. You've got options to rent large equipment and tools by the week, day, or month, too. If you need it longer than anticipated, call the Rental Center to arrange an extension and avoid late fees.
When can I bring the tools back?
It's fine to return the tools early if you complete your project faster than planned, but on-time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off residual dust, mud, and grime from the tool as well. If you need them longer, call your local rental center to see if you can extend your rental period.
Can I rent a truck for a week?
Rent a box truck, cargo van, or flatbed truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes might be enough time. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on how long your project is. Be sure to factor in the drive between the job site and the store, as you must bring it back to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Be sure to read the provided documentation before choosing your truck.
Do I need to refuel the rental truck when I'm done?
Yes, please fuel up the truck before you bring it back. Make a note of the original fuel level when you receive the truck, and be sure to fill it with enough gas to match that level. When you don't refill the truck, you'll be hit with a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Do I just need a driver's license to rent a truck or large equipment?
No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be over the age of 21. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck. Large equipment or select tools also require ID verification via CLEAR.
How do I receive my large equipment rental?
Depending on your location, you may be able to get large equipment dropped off at your job site for an affordable rate — at your home or out in the field. You'll need to rent it for one day or longer and provide us with 24 hours notice so we can prepare your rental delivery for you. In places where delivery isn't available, speak to an associate for the best way to get your large equipment.
How do I avoid extra fees and penalties on my large equipment rentals?
Think of your large equipment rentals as any other vehicle: Make sure it's parked legally and you obey traffic laws. Read the operator's manual so you're using it correctly to avoid damaging the equipment or injuring yourself. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are. If you cancel within 12 hours of your scheduled delivery, you'll pay a cancellation fee. Make sure to return equipment by the deadline or extend the rental period to accommodate the extra hours or days you require.
