Small DIY projects may only require a rental that's a few hours long, and we can accommodate large projects as well. You've got options to rent large equipment and tools by the week, day, or month, too. If you need it longer than anticipated, call the Rental Center to arrange an extension and avoid late fees.

It's fine to return the tools early if you complete your project ahead of schedule, but on-time works, too. As long as you return it by the deadline you were given when you rented it, you'll be good to go. Please clean off any built-up dirt from the tool as well. If you need them longer, call the rental center to see if you can extend your rental period.

Rent a truck or cargo van for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes could be enough time. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on the length of your project. Remember to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you'll need to return it to the same store you rented it from. Yes, please fuel up the truck before you bring it back. Note the original fuel level when you receive the truck, and be sure to fill it with enough gas to match that same level. When you don't refill the truck, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.

No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be over the age of 21. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements. Large equipment or select tools also require ID verification via CLEAR.

Depending on your location, you can get large equipment delivered and removed from your job site for a reasonable cost — at your home or out in the field. You'll need to rent it for one day or longer and provide us with 24 hours notice so we can adequately prepare your rented large equipment. In places where delivery isn't available, speak to an associate for the ideal way to get your large equipment.

Treat your rented large equipment as any other vehicle: Make sure you obey traffic laws and it's parked legally. Read the instructions so you're using it correctly to avoid injuring yourself or damaging the equipment. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are, as cancelling within 12 hours of delivery means you'll incur a cancellation fee. Extend your rental period if you need extra time so you won't get charged a late fee.
