The Home Depot Rental Center at Orange, CT

When you're ready to dive into a home improvement job, you might not have all the required tools in your shed or garage. That's when you should stop by The Home Depot Tool Rental Center in Orange, CT.

Tool Rental
Our tool and equipment rental options expand your toolbox and toolbelt with the exact tools you need to complete your project. It's not necessary to get a specialty tool when you're only using it once in a while. When you're in the market for a new tool, try it out first before you select which one to get. Whatever your situation, we have the tools you're looking for.

Tame the Lawn and Bushes Early
Lighten the load with outdoor power equipment rentals and whip the yard into shape again. Neaten the lawn and bushes with hedge trimmers and rental lawn mowers, and get that driveway and sidewalk clean again with a pressure washer rental. Your outdoor oasis will be ready for new spring flowers in no time.

Make Painting Easier with Rental Scaffolding and Ladders
Take advantage of longer spring days and paint outdoors. Rent paint sprayers to get professional coverage fast and make surfaces look new again. Rent scaffolding and ladders to reach elevated surfaces when painting fences, houses, and sheds. We carry extension ladders and step ladders for small to medium jobs, so you won't have to wait when you're ready to get that job done.

Truck Rental
To move large tool rentals or anything else, we keep flatbed trucks and box trucks on hand — with availability varying by store. We also offer Penske moving trucks ranging from 12-foot to 26-foot lengths at certain stores. You're sure to find the right size truck rental for your project so you can keep your job on track. As your trusted source for DIY jobs, it's simple to make us your go-to source for moving and transport as well.

Large Equipment Rentals
Handle expansive projects with the right pro equipment. Our large equipment rentals give you the power you need to finish the job. From the scissor and boom lifts to give you a boost to the mini excavators and skid steers for hauling materials, we've got an expansive variety of equipment available. If a large equipment rental could help you, explore our selection to see what we've got in stock.

Although we're mentioning specific tool, large equipment, and truck rentals, not everything is available at every rental center. If you've got a particular truck in mind, please contact your local rental center to see where you can pick it up.

Frequently Asked Questions about Rentals

How do I rent a piece of large equipment, a tool, or a truck?

Stop by the Rental Center at your nearest Home Depot to see what tools and trucks are up for rent. If you want to be sure of what's in stock, call first to inquire about a truck, tool, or large equipment. You may also visit our tool and equipment rental or truck rental pages to see if what you need is in stock at your favorite store. For more information on renting large equipment or tools, read our Tool Rental FAQs, including terms and conditions for the equipment.

Can I rent a tool or large equipment by the hour?

Tool rentals and large equipment rentals start at four hour time slots. It depends on how long you'd like to rent them. Small DIY jobs may only require a rental that's a few hours long, and we can accommodate large projects as well. You've got options to rent tools by the day, week, or month, too. If you need it longer than your initial rental period, call the Rental Center for an extension and avoid late fees.

When do I return the tools?

You're welcome to return the tools early if you finish your project faster than planned, but on-time works, too. As long as you return it by the deadline you were given when you rented it, you'll be good to go. Please clean off any built-up dirt from the tool as well. If you need the tools longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.

How long can I rent a truck?

Rent a cargo van, box truck, or pickup truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes might be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on how long your project is. Remember to factor in the drive between the job site and the store, as you must bring it back to the same store where you rented it. Penske moving truck rentals allow one-way rentals as well as round-trip options, and they have different terms. Be sure to read the documentation before choosing your vehicle.

Do I need to refuel the rental truck when I'm done?

Yes, please fuel up the truck before you return it. Match the amount of gas that was in the tank when you got the rental. When you don't refill the vehicle, you'll be hit with a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.

Do I just need a driver's license to rent large equipment or a truck?

No, you also need to be 21 or older, in addition to holding a valid driver's license. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements. Select tools as well as large equipment also require ID verification via CLEAR.

How do I get my large equipment rental?

Depending on your location, you can get large equipment delivered straight to your job site for a reasonable cost — whether that's at your home or out in the field. You'll need to rent it for one day or longer and provide us with 24 hours notice so we can adequately prepare your rented large equipment. Speak to an associate for the ideal way to get your large equipment.

What are some ways to avoid penalties and extra fees on rented large equipment?

Treat your large equipment rentals as any other vehicle: Make sure you obey traffic laws and it's parked legally. Read the instructions so you're using it correctly to avoid injuring yourself or damaging the equipment. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are, as cancelling within 12 hours of delivery means you'll incur a cancellation fee. Extend your rental period if you need extra time so you won't get charged a late fee.
