Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting rechargeable batteries, plastic plant pots, CFLs, and lead acid batteries for recycling.
Home Depot stores sent approximately 5.3 million pounds of shredded paper for recycling in 2022. This has helped the planet by preserving over 63,500 trees, keeping over 16,000 trash bags of solid waste out of landfills, saving over 50 million gallons of water, and conserving 7.8 million kilowatt hours of electricity.
LED lights in your local store reduced energy consumption by 98 million kilowatt hours. Many stores also participate in renewable energy initiatives such as solar and wind.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our customers and associates. This commitment extends beyond our stores to the environment and our communities. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Learn more about our eco actions.

Pick up an assortment of moving boxes to make your move easier. We've got the sizes you need, including specialty ones like wardrobe and TV boxes. Cushion any and all items with moving blankets and bubble cushion to ensure your belongings make it there safely. Remember to check out our rental moving trucks if you need those, too.
Should I get a portable generator or an inverter generator?
We've got the variety you need when searching for a generator for sale. Inverter generators are cleaner and quieter than traditional portable generators. They adjust to whatever power load is requested. This means they'll make less noise while they create less power. When shopping for generators for sale, remember that portable generators are more affordable and generate more electricity than inverter generators, but they're heavier and louder. For safety purposes, always run your generators outside, away from doors and windows.
Why should I repair my roof before spring severe weather arrives?
Make sure your home is ready for spring temperatures swings and storms by replacing or repairing broken parts of your home and hardscaping. If water freezes in the crevices, you could have problems. On the outside of your home, examine metal roofing panels or roof shingles for rust or damage that could let water in. Clean gutters to prevent ice dams if you're prone to frozen precip as the seasons change. Check cinder blocks and brickwork for cracks. Indoors, ensure ceiling tiles are free from water damage and missing pieces. Lastly, change out chimney caps and vinyl siding if damaged.
Why should I get a doorbell camera?
Enjoy privacy, safety, and peace of mind with a wired or wireless doorbell camera. No more peeking through an adjacent window or peephole when you can watch visitors in real time. Some doorbell cams even let you talk to whoever is on your doorstep via your phone, which is useful for delivery people or to scare off would-be porch pirates. Many cameras integrate with your smart home app or hub to give you flexible accessibility. Choose to save video clips for future reference and worry less with more control.
