Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting lead acid batteries, rechargeable batteries, plastic plant pots, and CFLs for recycling.
Our stores sent approximately 5.3M pounds of shredded paper for recycling in 2022. This helped the planet by preserving over 63.5K trees. It kept over 16K trash bags of solid waste out of landfills, saved over 50M gallons of water, and conserved 7.8M kilowatt hours of electricity.
LED lights in your local store cut energy consumption by 98 million kilowatt hours. Many stores also participate in renewable energy initiatives like wind and solar.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our associates and customers. This commitment extends beyond our stores to our local communities and the environment. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Read more about our commitment to economic responsibility.

What kinds of moving boxes do you have?
Make your move easier by picking up an assortment of moving boxes. We've got the sizes you need, including specialty ones like wardrobe and TV boxes. Cushion your items with bubble cushion and moving blankets to ensure your belongings make it to your next location safely. Don't forget to check out our moving truck rentals if you need those, too.
Should I get a portable generator or an inverter generator?
Having a generator means you're prepared for whatever circumstances Mother Nature throws at you. Whether you're dealing with tornados, hurricanes, severe thunderstorms, blizzards or strong winds, a portable generator lets you enjoy electricity when the elements knock it out. When searching generators for sale, remember that portable generators are more affordable and generate more electricity than inverter generators, but they're heavier and louder. Always run your generators outdoors, away from windows and doors, for safety purposes.
What home repairs should I make sooner rather than later?
Make sure your home is ready for spring temperature swings by replacing any broken parts of your home and hardscaping. If water freezes in any crevices, you could be in for major repairs down the line. On the outside of your home, examine roofing shingles or metal roof panels for damage or rust that could let water in. Gutters should be clear to prevent ice dams if you're still prone to ice storms and snow. Check brick and cinder blocks for cracks, and ensure indoor ceiling tiles are free from water damage and missing pieces. Lastly, vinyl siding and chimney caps should be changed out if damaged.
Does The Home Depot sell doorbell cameras?
Enjoy safety, peace of mind, and privacy with a wireless or wired doorbell camera. No more peeking through the peephole or a nearby window when you can watch human or animal visitors in real time. Some doorbell cams even let you talk to whoever is on your doorstep via your phone, which is useful to scare off wannabe porch pirates or talk to delivery people. Several cameras integrate with your smart home hub or app to give you flexible and easy accessibility. Choose to save video clips for future reference and worry less with more control.
