Tool Rental
Start your next DIY project with confidence and the best tools for the job. Let The Home Depot Tool Rental Center in Park Centre expand your toolbox with the items you don't have on hand. Rent the tools you need and return them when you've completed the project. If it turns out the rental tools would be more useful than you thought, inquire about buying our retired rental tools. The retired rental tools are discounted compared to the new items in our aisles.
Make Painting Easier with Rental Scaffolding and Paint Sprayers
Take advantage of warmer weather to paint outdoors. Rent paint sprayers to get professional coverage and work much faster than you would with a brush or roller and a paint tray. Rent ladders and scaffolding to reach elevated surfaces when painting fences, houses, and sheds. We carry step ladders and extension ladders for small to medium jobs, so you won't have to wait when you're ready to get that job done.
Tame the Lawn and Greenery Early
Lighten the load with outdoor power equipment rentals and whip the yard into shape again. Neaten around the garden and bushes with rental lawn mowers and string trimmers, and get that driveway and sidewalk clean again with a pressure washer rental. Your outdoor oasis will be refreshed and ready for new spring flowers before you know it.
Cargo Van and Truck Rentals
To move large tool rentals or anything else, we keep trucks of all kinds ready to roll. Although availability varies by store, we've got a selection ranging from pickups to cargo vans to flatbeds. Choose the correct size for your DIY project so you can keep your timeline running smoothly. As your source for DIY jobs, it's smart to make us your source for truck rental as well.
Box Truck and Penske Moving Truck Rentals
If it's time to relocate to a new home, let us help with that, too. Explore our rental box trucks. We also offer Penske moving trucks ranging from 12-foot to 26-foot lengths, but as always, availability varies by store. Box trucks have different sizes and rental requirements than Penske moving trucks, so check our FAQ or speak to an Orange Apron to make sure you find the right rental truck for you.
Large Equipment Rentals
Handle massive projects with the right pro equipment. Our large equipment rentals give you the power you need to finish the job yourself. From the boom and scissor lifts to give you a boost to the mini skid steers capable of hauling materials on outdoor job sites, we've got an expansive variety of equipment available. If a large equipment rental could help you, explore and see what we've got in stock.
Although we're mentioning popular large equipment, tool, and truck rentals, our rental center may not have everything on hand for your required time frame. If you've got a particular truck in mind, please contact your local rental center to see where you can pick it up.
How do I rent a piece of large equipment, a tool, or a truck?
Stop by your local Rental Center to see which tools or trucks you can rent. If you'd like to be sure of what's in stock, call first to inquire about a tool, truck, or large equipment. You may also read our tool and equipment rental or truck rental pages to see if what you need is carried at your favorite store. For more information on renting large equipment or tools, read our Tool Rental FAQs, including equipment terms and conditions.
Can I rent large equipment or a tool for a month?
You can rent large equipment or tools for four hours or more. Simply choose the length of time that suits you. Small home improvement projects may only require a rental for a few hours, and major projects are no problem. You've got options to rent large equipment and tools by the week, day, or month, too. If you need it longer than what you signed up for, call the Rental Center for an extension and avoid late fees.
When do I return the tools?
You can return the tools early if you complete your project sooner than predicted, but on-time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off any mud or dirt from the tool as well. If you need them longer, call your rental center to see if you can extend your rental period.
Can I rent a truck for a few hours?
Rent a cargo van, box truck, or pickup truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes may be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on the length of your project. Be sure to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you'll need to bring it back to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow one-way rentals as well as round-trip options, and they have different terms. Make sure to read the documentation before choosing a vehicle.
Should I refill the rental truck before I bring it back?
Yes, please fuel up the truck before you return it. Make a note of the original fuel level when you receive the truck, and be sure to fill it with enough gas to match that level. When you don't refill the rental vehicle, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Do I just need a driver's license to rent large equipment or a truck?
No, you also need to be 21 or older, in addition to holding a valid driver's license. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a credit card hold or a deposit, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements. Select tools as well as large equipment also require ID verification via CLEAR.
Do I need to pick up my large equipment rental from the store?
Depending on your location, you can get large equipment delivered to your job site for a reasonable cost — at your home or out in the field. You'll need to rent it for one day or longer and provide us with 24 hours notice so we can adequately prepare your rented large equipment. In places where delivery isn't available, speak to an associate for the ideal way to get your large equipment.
How do I avoid extra fees and penalties on rented large equipment?
Think of your rented large equipment as any other vehicle: Make sure you obey traffic laws and it's parked legally. Read the manual so you're using it correctly to avoid damaging the equipment or injuring yourself. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are, as cancelling within 12 hours of delivery means you'll incur a cancellation fee. Extend your rental period if you need extra time so you won't get dinged with a late fee.
