Take on any new home improvement project with the right tools for the job — even if you don't have them on hand. Rent power tools, use them, and take them back when you're done. You're free to complete your project without cluttering up valuable workshop storage with tools you only reach for every so often.
Tool Rental
The Home Depot Pell City Tool Rental Center can expand the scope of your DIY projects. You won't be limited by only what you have on hand or have to settle for untrustworthy hand-me-down tools. Rent the tools to finish your project safely. If your local store doesn't have the tool you need in stock, it could be at another store within driving distance.
Tame the Lawn and Trees Early
Greet the spring with outdoor power equipment rentals and whip the yard into shape again. Neaten the yard with a rental lawn mower and leaf blower, the trees and hedges with a chainsaw rental, and the sidewalks with a rental pressure washer. Your outdoor oasis will be ready for new spring flowers in no time.
A Comfortable Workspace is a Productive One
Get ahead of summer heat by prepping in the springtime. Plan to keep your workspace cool and comfortable so you can get more done. We have generators to run fans, rental air conditioners, and all your large power tools.
Rental Trucks
Choose one of our trucks when you need a flatbed or pickup truck. It's great for hauling an item that's too big for the car. With excellent availability and a price to match, our vehicles are ready when you are. We've also got Penske moving trucks and box trucks to help ease the stress of a big move. Availability varies by store, so check our FAQ or speak to an associate to make sure you choose the right rental truck for you.

How do I rent a truck or tool?
Stop by the Rental Center at your nearest Home Depot to see what trucks and tools are up for rent. If you'd like confirmation before you drive there, call first to inquire about a truck or tool. You might also read our tool and equipment rental or truck rental pages to see if what you need is available at your store. For more information on renting tools, read the Tool Rental FAQs, which includes equipment terms and conditions.
Can I rent tools by the hour?
You can rent a tool for four hours or more. Simply choose the length of time that suits you. Small home improvement projects may only require a rental for a few hours, and we can accommodate large projects as well. You've got options to rent tools by the week, month, or day, too. If you need it longer than anticipated, call your Rental Center for an extension and avoid late fees.
When do I bring the tools back?
You're welcome to return the tools early if you complete your project faster than planned, but on-time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off any built-up dirt from the tool as well. If you need them longer, call the rental center to see if you can extend your rental period.
Can I rent a truck for a week?
Rent a cargo van, box truck, or flatbed truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes may be enough time. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on how long your project is. Remember to factor in the drive between the store and the job site, as you must return it to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Make sure to read the contract before you decide on a truck.
Should I refill the rental truck with gas before I bring it back?
Yes, please fill up the truck before you bring it back. Match the amount of gas that was in the tank when you received the rental. If you don't, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Can I rent a truck with only a driver's license?
No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be 21 or older. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements.
