Kick off your next home improvement job with confidence and the right tools for the job. Let The Home Depot Tool Rental Center in Pinellas Park expand your toolbelt with the tools you don't have on hand. Rent a tool and bring it back after you've completed the project. If those rental tools just went from wanted to needed, inquire about buying our retired rental tools. Compared to the new items on our store shelves, they're discounted.
A Comfortable Workspace is a Productive One
Get ready to beat the heat before it hits. We've got ways to help keep your workspace refreshingly cool so you can get more done. We have generators to run fans, rental air conditioners, and all your large power tools.
Tame the Bushes and Lawn Early
Lighten the load with outdoor power equipment rentals and whip the yard into shape again. Neaten the yard with a rental lawn mower and leaf blower rental, the trees and hedges with a chainsaw, and the sidewalks and driveway with a rental pressure washer. Your outdoor oasis will be looking fresh and ready for new spring flowers in no time.
Truck and Cargo Van Rentals
To meet your transport needs, we keep trucks of all kinds rental ready. Although availability varies by store, we've got a selection ranging from cargo vans to flatbed trucks to pickup trucks. You're sure to find the correct size for your project so you can keep your timeline running smoothly. As your source for DIY projects, storage needs, and packing, it's smart to make us your go-to source for truck rental as well.
Box Truck and Penske Moving Truck Rentals
If it's time to relocate to a new home, we can help with that, too. Explore our rental box trucks. We also offer Penske moving trucks ranging from 12-foot to 26-foot lengths, but as always, availability varies by store. Penske moving trucks have different sizes and rental requirements than our box trucks, so check out the FAQ or speak to an associate to ensure you choose the right rental truck for you.

Although we're calling out specific tool, truck, and large equipment rentals, our rental center may not have everything on hand for your required time frame. If you've got a particular piece of equipment in mind, please contact your local rental center to see where you can pick it up.
How do I rent tools, trucks, or large equipment?
Stop by the Rental Center at your nearest Home Depot to see what's available. If you want confirmation before you drive there, call first to inquire about a tool, truck, or large equipment. You can also visit our truck rental or tool and equipment rental pages to see if what you need is carried at your store. For more details on renting large equipment or tools, read these Tool Rental FAQs, including terms and conditions for the equipment.
How long can I rent tools or large equipment?
You can rent large equipment or tools for four hours or more. It depends on how long you'd like to rent them. Small DIY jobs may only require a short rental period, and long-term jobs are no problem. You've got options to rent tools by the day, month, or week, too. If you need it longer than anticipated, call your Rental Center for an extension and avoid late fees.
When do I return the tools?
It's fine to return the tools early if you finish your project sooner than predicted, but on-time works, too. As long as you return it by the deadline you were given when you rented it, you'll be good to go. Please clean off dust, mud, and grime from the tool as well. If you need them longer, call the rental center to see if you can extend your rental period.
Can I choose how long to rent a truck?
Rent a box truck, cargo van, or flatbed truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes could be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on the length of your project. Remember to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you must bring it back to the same store where you rented it. Penske moving truck rentals allow one-way rentals as well as round-trip options, and they have different terms. Make sure to read the contract and terms and conditions before selecting a vehicle.
Do I need to refuel the rental truck when I'm done?
Yes, please fill up the truck before you return it. Make a note of the fuel level when you receive the truck, and be sure to fill it with enough gas to match that same level. If you don't, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Do I just need a driver's license to rent large equipment or a truck?
No, you also need to be 21 or older, in addition to holding a valid driver's license. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck. Large equipment or select tools also require ID verification via CLEAR.
How do I get my large equipment rental?
Depending on your location, you can get large equipment delivered straight to your job site for an affordable rate — at your home or out in the field. You'll need to rent it for one day or longer and provide us with 24 hours notice so we can adequately prepare your rented large equipment. In places where delivery isn't available, speak to an associate for the best way to get your large equipment.
What are some ways to avoid penalties and extra fees on my large equipment rentals?
Think of your large equipment rentals as any other vehicle: Make sure you obey traffic laws and it's parked legally. Read the manual so you're using it correctly to avoid injuring yourself or damaging the equipment. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are, as cancelling within 12 hours of delivery means you'll incur a cancellation fee. Extend your rental period if you need extra time so you won't get charged a late fee.
