Take on any new home improvement project with the right tools — even if you don't own them. Rent the tools, use them, and bring them back when you're done. Finish your project without cluttering up shed or garage storage with tools you rarely use.
Tool Rental
The Home Depot Pooler Tool Rental Center lets you do more complex DIY projects. No more old hand-me-down tools that limit what you can do. Complete your project safely and confidently by renting quality tools. If your local store doesn't have the tool in stock, it might be at another store within driving distance.
Tame the Bushes and Lawn Early
Lighten the load with outdoor power equipment rentals and whip the yard into shape again. Neaten around the garden and shrubs with rental lawn mowers and hedge trimmers, and get that sidewalk and driveway clean again with a pressure washer rental. Your outdoor oasis will be looking fresh and ready for new spring flowers in no time.
Add Insulation When the Weather is Cooler
For a more energy-efficient home, update your insulation in the spring, if possible — before it gets dangerously hot in your attic. Rent equipment made for insulation to get it installed correctly. Choose from a fiberglass blower or a cellulose insulation blower, and get those nooks and crannies insulated well. Help keep your heating and cooling bills under control with new insulation that maintains your home's temperature.

How do I rent a truck or tool?
Stop by the Rental Center at your nearest Home Depot to see what tools or trucks you can rent. If you'd like confirmation before you drive there, call first to inquire about a tool or truck. You could also read our truck rental or tool and equipment rental pages to see if what you need is offered at your local store. For more info on renting tools, read the Tool Rental FAQs, which includes equipment terms and conditions.
Can I rent a tool by the hour?
Tool rentals start at four hour time slots. Simply choose the length of time that suits you. Small home improvement jobs may only require a rental that's a few hours long, and bigger jobs can also be accommodated. You've got options to rent tools by the month, day, or week, too. If you need it longer than what you signed up for, call your Rental Center for an extension and avoid late fees.
When do I return the tools?
You're welcome to return the tools early if you finish your project faster than planned, but on-time works, too. As long as you return it by the deadline you were given when you rented it, you'll be good to go. Please clean off residual dust, mud, and grime from the tool as well. If you need it longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.
How long can I rent a truck?
Rent a box truck, cargo van, or flatbed truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes may be enough time. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on how long your project is. Don't forget to factor in the drive between the store and the job site, as you must bring it back to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow one-way rentals as well as round-trip options, and they have different terms. Make sure to read the contract before selecting a vehicle.
Do I need to refill the rental truck with gas?
Yes, please fill up the truck before you bring it back. Note the amount of gas in the tank when you receive the truck, and fill it with enough gas to match that same level. When you don't refill the vehicle, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Can I rent a truck with only a driver's license?
No, you also need to be 21 or older, in addition to holding a valid driver's license. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a credit card hold or a deposit, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements.
