Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting CFLs, lead acid batteries, rechargeable batteries, and plastic plant pots for recycling.
This store recycles all shrink wrap, contributing to the 780 million pounds that The Home Depot has sold to Trex in the past. This is used to manufacture composite decking materials, bringing us one step closer to a circular economy.
LED lights in your local store cut energy consumption by 98 million kilowatt hours. Many stores also participate in renewable energy initiatives such as wind and solar.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our customers and associates. This commitment extends beyond our stores to the environment, as well as our communities. Is it good to have a generator at home?
Having a generator means you're prepared year-round for whatever circumstances life throws at you. Whether you're dealing with tornados, hurricanes, snowstorms, severe thunderstorms, or strong winds, a portable generator lets you enjoy power after the elements take it out. When searching generators for sale, don't forget that portable generators cost less and generate more electricity than inverter generators, but they're heavier and louder. Always run your generators outside, away from doors and windows, for safety purposes.
Why should I repair my roof before spring severe weather arrives?
Ready your home for spring temperature swings by replacing or repairing broken parts of your hardscaping and home. If water freezes in the crevices, you could have problems. Check bricks and cinder block for cracks, and ensure indoor ceiling tiles are free from missing pieces and water damage. On the outside of your home, examine metal roofs or roofing shingles for rust or damage that could let water in. Gutters should be clear and functional to prevent ice dams if you're prone to frozen precip as the seasons change. Lastly, replace chimney caps and vinyl siding if they're in poor condition.
Do you have doorbell cameras?
Enjoy peace of mind, safety, and privacy with a wireless or wired doorbell camera. No more peeking through a window or peephole when you can see animal or human visitors in real time. Some doorbell cams even let you talk to whoever is on your doorstep via your phone, which is useful for delivery people or to scare off would-be porch pirates. Many cameras integrate with your smart home hub or app to give you easy and flexible accessibility. Save video clips for future reference and worry less with more control.
