The Home Depot Rental Center at Racine

When you're starting to dive into a big DIY job, you might not have everything you need in the shed or garage. That's when you should stop by The Home Depot Tool Rental Center in Racine.

Tool Rental
Our tool rental options enlarge your toolbelt and toolbox with the exact tools you need to complete your project. It's not practical to purchase a specific tool when you're not using it at least once a week. When you're thinking about buying a new tool, try it out before you decide which one to get. Whatever your situation, we have the power tools you're looking for.

Make Painting Easier with Rental Scaffolding and Paint Sprayers
Make the most of warmer weather to paint outdoors. Rent paint sprayers to get optimal coverage fast and make surfaces look new again. Scaffolding rentals help you reach elevated surfaces when painting fences, houses, and sheds. We carry extension ladders and step ladders for small to medium jobs, so you won't have to wait when inspiration strikes.

Rent Floor Sanders, Post Hole Diggers, Shop Vacuums, and More
Tackle major projects with reliable power tools. Take your scuffed wooden floor to the next level with a floor sander rental and a shop vacuum rental to get the floors smooth and ready for refinishing. Construct a new fence around your pool or property faster and more efficiently with a post hole digger rental, then use other concrete tools that suit the job at hand.

Rental Trucks
If it's time to get going on your DIY project but you lack the wheels to do it, visit The Home Depot Truck Rental Center. From cargo vans and flatbed trucks to box trucks and Penske moving trucks, we've got the transportation you need. We'll have the right size for your project so you can keep your timeline running smoothly. Rent a truck to check off more DIY jobs from your list. Check with your local rental center for availability, as it changes.

Large Equipment Rentals
Handle expansive projects with the right professional equipment. Our large equipment rentals give you the power you need to finish the job yourself. From the boom and scissor lifts to give you a boost to the mini skid steers and mini excavators for hauling materials, we've got a surprising variety of equipment available. If a large equipment rental could help you, explore our selection to see what we've got in stock.

Although we're calling out popular large equipment, tool, and truck rentals, our rental center may not have everything on hand for your required time frame. If you've got a particular tool in mind, please contact your local rental center to see where you can pick it up.

Frequently Asked Questions about Rentals

How do I rent large equipment, trucks, or tools?

Stop by your local Rental Center to see what tools or trucks you can rent. If you want confirmation before you drive there, call first to inquire about a tool, truck, or large equipment. You could also check out our truck rental or tool and equipment rental pages to see if what you need is available at your store. For more on renting tools or large equipment, read these Tool Rental FAQs, including equipment terms and conditions.

How long can I rent tools or large equipment?

Large equipment rentals and tool rentals start at four hour time slots. Simply choose the length of time that suits you. Small DIY projects may only require a rental that's a few hours long, and long-term projects can also be accommodated. You've got options to rent large equipment and tools by the week, day, or month, too. If you need it longer than anticipated, call your Rental Center to arrange an extension and avoid late fees.

When do I bring the tools back?

It's fine to return the tools early if you complete your project sooner than predicted, but on-time works, too. As long as you return it by the deadline you were given when you rented it, you'll be good to go. Please clean off any mud or dirt from the tool as well. If you need them longer, call the rental center to see if you can extend your rental period.

How long can I rent a truck?

Rent a cargo van, box truck, or pickup truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes could be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on the length of your project. Be sure to factor in the drive between the store and the job site, as you'll need to return it to the same store where you rented it. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Be sure to read the provided documentation before choosing a truck.

Do I need to refill the rental truck with gas?

Yes, please fill up the truck before you bring it back. Note the fuel level when you receive the truck, and be sure to fill it with enough gas to match that same level. If you don't, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.

Do I just need a driver's license to rent large equipment or a truck?

No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be 21 or older. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a credit card hold or a deposit, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck. Select tools as well as large equipment also require ID verification via CLEAR.

Do I need to pick up my rented large equipment from the store?

Depending on your location, you can get large equipment dropped off and picked up from your job site for a reasonable cost — whether that's at your home or out in the field. You'll need to rent it for one day or longer and provide us with 24 hours notice so we can prepare your rental delivery for you. In places where delivery isn't available, speak to an associate for the best way to get your large equipment.

How do I avoid penalties and extra fees on rented large equipment?

Treat your large equipment rentals as any other vehicle: Make sure it's parked legally and you obey traffic laws. Read the instructions so you're using it correctly to avoid injuring yourself or damaging the equipment. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are, as cancelling within 12 hours of delivery means you'll incur a cancellation fee. Make sure to return equipment by the deadline or extend the rental period to accommodate the extra time you require.
