The Home Depot Rental Center at Riverdale

Take on any DIY project with the tools you need — even if you don't currently own them. Rent tools, use them, and bring them back when you're done. Complete your project without taking up valuable workshop or shed storage with tools you rarely use.

Tool Rental
The Home Depot Tool Rental Center in Riverdale helps you handle more complicated DIY projects. You won't be limited by only what you have on hand or have to settle for untrustworthy hand-me-down tools. Rent quality tools to complete your project safely and confidently. If your local store doesn't have the needed tool in stock, it could be at another one within driving distance.

Tame the Trees and Lawn Early
Lighten the load with outdoor power equipment rentals and whip the yard into shape again. Neaten the lawn and shrubs with rental lawn mowers and string trimmers, and get that driveway clean again with a pressure washer rental. Your outdoor oasis will be ready for new spring flowers before you know it.

Add Insulation When the Weather is Cooler
To make your home more energy efficient, replace your insulation in the spring — before it gets dangerously hot in the attic. Rent equipment made for insulation to install it correctly. Decide between a cellulose insulation blower or a fiberglass blower, and insulate those nooks and crannies well. Installing insulation keeps your home cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter, all while tempering your heating and cooling bills.

Rental Trucks
To move large tool rentals or anything else, we keep pickup trucks and box trucks on hand — with availability varying by store. We also offer Penske moving trucks in sizes ranging from 12-feet to 26-feet at certain stores. You're sure to find the right size truck rental for your DIY project so you can keep your job on track. As your source for DIY projects, packing, and storage needs, it's simple to make us your go-to source for moving and transport as well.

Large Equipment Rentals
Handle massive projects with pro power equipment. Our large equipment rentals give you the power you need. From the scissor lifts to give you a boost to the mini excavators capable of hauling materials on outdoor job sites, we've got a surprising variety of equipment available. If a large equipment rental could help you, explore and see what we've got in stock.

Although we're calling out specific tool, truck, and large equipment rentals, our rental center may not have everything on hand for your required time frame. If you've got a particular tool in mind, please contact your local rental center to see where you can pick it up.

Frequently Asked Questions about Rentals

How do I rent large equipment, tools, or trucks?

Stop by your local Rental Center to see what's available. If you'd like to be sure of what's in stock, call first to inquire about a truck, tool, or large equipment. You can also check out our tool and equipment rental or truck rental pages to see if what you need is at your favorite store. For more details on renting tools or large equipment, read these Tool Rental FAQs, which includes equipment terms and conditions.

Can I rent a tool or large equipment by the hour?

You can rent large equipment or tools for four hours or more. Simply choose the length of time that suits you. Small home improvement projects may only require a rental that's a few hours long, and we can accommodate large projects as well. You've got options to rent large equipment and tools by the month, week, or day, too. If you need it longer than anticipated, call your Rental Center to arrange an extension and avoid late fees.

When do I return the tools?

You can return the tools early if you complete your project ahead of schedule, but on-time works, too. As long as you return it by the deadline you were given when you rented it, you'll be good to go. Please clean off mud and grime from the tool as well. If you need the tools longer, call your rental center to see if you can extend your rental period.

Can I rent a truck for a few hours?

Rent a box truck, cargo van, or pickup truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes could be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on the length of your project. Remember to factor in the drive between the store and the job site, as you must return it to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow one-way rentals as well as round-trip options, and they have different terms. Make sure to read the terms and conditions before choosing a vehicle.

Should I refill the rental truck before I bring it back?

Yes, please fuel up the truck before you return it. Match the level of gas that was in the tank when you got the rental. When you don't refill the truck, you'll be hit with a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.

Can I rent large equipment or a truck with only a driver's license?

No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be over the age of 21. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a credit card hold or a deposit, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck. Select tools as well as large equipment also require ID verification via CLEAR.

Do I need to pick up my large equipment rental?

Depending on your location, you may be able to get large equipment dropped off at your job site for an affordable rate — out in the field or at your own home. We'll need at least 24 hours notice so we can adequately prepare your rented equipment and you'll need to rent it for a full day. Speak to an associate for the ideal way to get your large equipment.

How do I avoid extra fees and penalties on my large equipment rentals?

Treat your large equipment rentals as any other vehicle: Make sure it's parked legally and you obey traffic laws. Read the operator's manual so you're using it correctly to avoid injuring yourself or damaging the equipment. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are. If you cancel within 12 hours of your scheduled delivery, you'll pay a cancellation fee. Make sure to return equipment by the deadline or extend the rental period to accommodate the extra hours or days you require.
