The Home Depot Rental Center at Rowlett

Take on any home improvement project with the tools you need — even if you don't have them on hand. Rent the tools, use them, and take them back when you're done. Finish your project without taking up shed or garage storage with tools you only reach for every so often.

Tool Rental
The Home Depot Rowlett Tool Rental Center helps you handle larger DIY projects. Break free of the limits of old tools and rent up-to-date tools made to suit your projects. Rent the tools to finish your project confidently and safely. If your local store doesn't have a tool you need in stock, you might find it at another store within driving distance.

Tame the Lawn and Trees Early
Lighten the load with outdoor power equipment rentals and whip the yard into shape again. Neaten the lawn and bushes with rental lawn mowers and edgers, and get that sidewalk clean again with a pressure washer rental. Your outdoor oasis will be refreshed and ready for new spring flowers in no time.

Add Insulation When the Weather is Cooler
To make your home more energy efficient, add another layer to your insulation in the spring — before it gets dangerously hot in your attic. Rent equipment made for insulation to get it installed correctly. Decide between a cellulose insulation blower or a fiberglass blower, and insulate those nooks and crannies with ease. You'll enjoy steadier utility bills and a more consistent home temperature with new insulation.

Rental Trucks
To move large tool rentals or anything else, we keep cargo vans as well as box trucks on hand — with availability varying by store. We also offer Penske moving trucks in sizes ranging from 12-feet to 26-feet at certain stores. We'll have the correct size truck rental for your project so you can keep your job on track. As your source for DIY projects, packing, and storage needs, it's simple to make us your go-to source for moving and transport as well.

Large Equipment Rentals
Complete expansive projects with pro power equipment. Our large equipment rentals give you the power you need. From the boom lifts and scissor lifts to give you a boost to the mini excavators and mini skid steers for hauling materials, we've got a surprising variety of equipment available. If a large equipment rental could help you, explore and see what we've got in stock.

Although we're calling out popular truck, large equipment, and tool rentals, our rental center may not have everything on hand for your required time frame. If you've got a particular truck in mind, please contact your local rental center to see where you can pick it up.

Frequently Asked Questions about Rentals

How do I rent trucks, tools, or large equipment?

Stop by the Rental Center at your nearest Home Depot to see what trucks and tools are up for rent. If you want confirmation before you drive there, call first to inquire about a truck, tool, or large equipment. You could also check out our tool and equipment rental or truck rental pages to see if what you need is available at your local store. For more info on renting tools or large equipment, read these Tool Rental FAQs, including terms and conditions for the equipment.

How long can I rent tools or large equipment?

Large equipment rentals and tool rentals start at four hour time slots. Simply choose the length of time that suits you. Small DIY jobs may only require a rental for a few hours, and long-term jobs are no problem. You've got options to rent tools by the week, month, or day, too. If you need it longer than your initial rental period, call your Rental Center for an extension and avoid late fees.

When can I bring the tools back?

It's fine to return the tools early if you finish your project ahead of schedule, but on-time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off any mud or dirt from the tool as well. If you need them longer, call the rental center to see if you can extend your rental period.

How long can I rent a truck?

Rent a box truck, cargo van, or flatbed truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes may be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on the length of your project. Be sure to factor in the drive between the job site and the store, as you must bring it back to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Be sure to read the provided documentation before choosing a truck.

Do I need to refuel the rental truck when I'm done?

Yes, please fill up the truck before you return it. Match the level of gas that was in the tank when you received the rental. If you don't, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.

Do I just need a driver's license to rent a truck or large equipment?

No, you also need to be 21 or older, in addition to holding a valid driver's license. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements. Select tools as well as large equipment also require ID verification via CLEAR.

How do I receive my large equipment rental?

Depending on your location, you can get large equipment dropped off at your job site for an affordable rate — whether that's out in the field or at your own home. You'll need to rent it for one day or longer and provide us with 24 hours notice so we can prepare your rental delivery for you. In places where delivery isn't available, speak to an associate for the ideal way to get your large equipment.

How do I avoid penalties and extra fees on my large equipment rentals?

Treat your large equipment rentals as any other vehicle: Make sure you obey traffic laws and it's parked legally. Read the operator's manual so you're using it correctly to avoid damaging the equipment or injuring yourself. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are, as cancelling within 12 hours of delivery means you'll incur a cancellation fee. Make sure to return equipment by the deadline or extend the rental period to accommodate the extra time you require.
