How do I rent trucks and tools?

Can I rent tools by the hour?
Tool rentals start at four hour time slots. It depends on how long you'd like to rent them. Small home improvement jobs may only require a short rental period, and we can accommodate large projects as well. You've got options to rent tools by the day, week, or month, too. If you need it longer than your initial rental period, call your Rental Center for an extension and avoid late fees.
When do I return the tools?
You can return the tools early if you complete your project sooner than predicted, but on-time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off any built-up dirt from the tool as well. If you need them longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.
Can I rent a truck for a few hours?
Rent a cargo van, box truck, or pickup truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes might be enough time. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on the length of your project. Don't forget to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you'll need to bring it back to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow one-way rentals as well as round-trip options, and they have different terms. Make sure to read the contract and terms and conditions before you choose a truck.
Do I need to refuel the rental truck when I'm done?
Yes, please fill up the truck before you bring it back. Note the amount of gas in the tank when you receive the truck, and fill it with enough gas to match that same level. When you don't refill the rental vehicle, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Do I just need a driver's license to rent a truck?
No, you also need to be 21 or older, in addition to holding a valid driver's license. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a credit card hold or a deposit, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck.
