Can I rent a flatbed truck?
Stop by your local Rental Center to see what trucks are available for rent. If you'd like confirmation before you drive there, call first to inquire about renting a Load 'N Go flatbed truck, pickup truck, or cargo van. Penske moving truck rentals and moving vans have different rules. You can also check out our truck rental page to see if what you need is in stock at your favorite store.
How long can I rent a truck?
Rent a moving van or truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes might be enough time. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on the length of your project. Remember to factor in the drive between the store and the job site, as you must bring it back to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Make sure to read the contract before choosing a van.
Do I need to refill the rental truck with gas?
Yes, please fill up the truck before you bring it back. Match the level of gas that was in the tank when you received the rental. If you don't, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Can I rent a truck with only a driver's license?
No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be 21 or older. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements.
