Store is always clean and easy to find items.

Plenty of parking and generally have enough cashiers and self serve kiosks to keep things moving. This store is always tidy and stock is usually in ample quantities. Sometimes it's hard to find a rep to help when you are looking for something in particular but when you do, they are always helpful or at least try to be. Happy that this is my home store.

Unhelpful as ussual

Home Depot in San Luis Obispo is a great store - clerks are ALWAYS friendly and very helpful. If one clerk does not know where something is that we are looking for - that clerk will find another one very quickly that can help us. Never had a bad experience at Home Depot in San Luis.

The best time to shop here is early Sunday morning before 9AM. There's hardly any other shoppers so you can navigate the aisles easily and get help from the employees. And there are no lines at the checkout. Any other time or day and this store is a madhouse. Also, the stock on the shelves is frequently mixed up and disorganized so you can't easily find what you want or figure out the price. It's a mess.

Nate in lumber helped me figure the best product for my needs. He helped figure out how I could do the flower bed with less tools because I couldn't afford to buy too many tools for a one time project . He also calculated how much soil would be needed for the project. Nate saved me time and money....now I feel comfortable trying another project! Thanks Nate in lumber

This is our primary home improvement store and we have purchased many things over the years. It's always met our needs.

If you need to return anything, the process is easy and quick. I've mostly dealt with Pam who is fun, efficient, knowledgeable, and appears to enjoy what she's doing. Keep up the great work Pam.

Great customer service in garden dept

The people made the difference: Ben in Paint - suggested best products for my lengthy list of items needed, walked me thru to get them, explained pro's & con's of each, pointed out value & quality of each one. JR in Tool Crib knew exactly what I needed and took me right to it - no wondering around or asking an associate who didn't know what a nail set punch is. Audrey -cashier - professional, friendly, efficient, engaging, and brought me one item I forgot as I was walking away after I paid.

The customer service at this store seems to be hit or miss leaning more towards 'miss', but that mainly applies to getting help while shopping. The customer service booth almost always give excellent service as do the cashiers, including the helpers at the self check out.

I am always greeted at the door and then again in the department offering help. I greatly appreciate this because it helps with questions and saves time.

I want to say that overall I enjoy the friendliness that our store has here in SLO. I have had very few instances where I had an employee with a bad attitude. I'm not one that needs much assistance but when I have, the employees are very knowledgeable & courteous. I enjoy shopping HD because I know that I will be taken care of. Thank You HD employees!

There are a number of qualified women on the sales floor in paint, plumbing, electrical, gardening, grills, etc. I am a single woman and I always feel well-prepared for my DYI project when I leave.

the store did not have what i wanted. but overall it was good service

I wasn't checking for cleanliness, I was on a mission and in a hurry. Nothing struck me as dirty. Consistently, most of the employees I have ran into in the San Luis Obispo Store are more knowledgeable and more interested in helping customers as was the case this evening compared to the average associate in the Atascadero store where there are some very clueless and could care less individuals... supposedly working. (There are some very good associates at the Atascadero store that I have known for years but they are rare). Getting someone to answer the phone in either store is always a nightmare when calling Home Depot. I waste more time on hold than if I drove 15 miles to see if the item was available on many occasions. I feel that is as much a management problem as it is an employee problem.

We shopped in three different areas of the store, and looked for someone to direct us to the right products in every case. Each time we quickly found a knowledgeable and helpful employee who went out of their way to help us find what we were looking for. This was an amazing experience. Everyone was friendly and helpful, and left us feeling very positive about the experience, including the woman who helped us check out, Rachel R. We felt like we were shopping in a small local store, as the people working there were so helpful and friendly. Great experience and so fitting for a place like San Luis Obispo.

Made several trips to HD #1052/SLO, for blinds, cabinets, plumbing and painting projects. Employees were friendly and helpful. One order, the blinds, were delayed, then one done incorrectly, despite carefully written notes by the person sent to take measurements. The issue has been very respectfully dealt with. The store was clean, staff available and friendly, including customer service and special order departments.

The San Luis Obispo store was clean and organized and had real people who knew things about the products and could make suggestions for solving my remodel problems in electrical lighting. We will return to purchase some special colored mix paint for stucco outside.

We're new to the area, have been to both the Lowe's in Paso Robles and the Home Depot in San Luis Obispo. The Home Depot wins hands down for the friendly and helpful service offered by it's employees. We enjoy the service we receive from the SLO Home Depot so much, that we are literally forgoing the 5% discount we'd receive had we made our purchases on our Lowe's credit card.

Purchased base board molding. Display said buy by the foot. Provided saw and measuring tape. Said return remanents longer than 4' to rack. Brought 2 ' to check out and advised clerk I had 2'. She rang me up and said to make sure to complete the survey and say what a great clerk she is. I later notice on receipt she had charged for 8'. Returned to show same clerk. She said the system did not allow for sale by foot. Asked why she had said so st check out. No answer.

The employees in this store have perfected the 'look away and dodge the customers as you stroll past' technique of customer service. What the heck? I miss the Lowe's that I used to live near. Hope one opens near me soon!

My mother returned a very large item that she was unsatisfied with, and the sweet gal at the customer service desk requested assistance for someone to help her unload it from the vehicle. As we were discussing return options, another staff member, Evan!, stepped in to insure we were getting the best return/exchange option that suited our needs, AND called my mother the following Monday to follow up with us and made sure everything was taken care of! He's the best!!

Good store overall , but very aggressive on the sales form the Solar city people. Many dogs in the store too. Not service dogs but ANY dog.
