Tool rentals and large equipment rentals start at four hour time slots. Simply choose the length of time that suits you. Small DIY projects may only require a rental for a few hours, and we can accommodate large projects as well. You've got options to rent large equipment and tools by the month, week, or day, too. If you need it longer than what you signed up for, call the Rental Center to arrange an extension and avoid late fees.

You're welcome to return the tools early if you complete your project faster than planned, but on-time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off residual dust, mud, and grime from the tool as well. If you need them longer, call your rental center to see if you can extend your rental period.

Rent a box truck, cargo van, or pickup truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes could be enough time. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on the length of your project. Be sure to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you'll need to bring it back to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow one-way rentals as well as round-trip options, and they have different terms. Be sure to read the terms and conditions before selecting a vehicle.

Yes, please fill up the truck before you return it. Note the amount of gas in the tank when you receive the truck, and be sure to fill it with enough gas to match that same level. If you don't, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.

No, you also need to be 21 or older, in addition to holding a valid driver's license. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a credit card hold or a deposit, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck. Large equipment or select tools also require ID verification via CLEAR.

Depending on your location, you can get large equipment delivered to your job site for an affordable rate — out in the field or at your own home. We'll need at least 24 hours notice so we can adequately prepare your rented equipment and you'll need to rent it for a full day. In places where delivery isn't available, speak to an associate for the best way to get your large equipment.

Think of your rented large equipment as any other vehicle: Make sure it's parked legally and you obey traffic laws. Read the manual so you're using it correctly to avoid injuring yourself or damaging the equipment. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are. If you cancel within 12 hours of your scheduled delivery, you'll pay a cancellation fee. Make sure to return equipment by the deadline or extend the rental period to accommodate the extra time you require.
