Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting plastic plant pots, CFLs, lead acid batteries, and rechargeable batteries for recycling.
This store recycles all shrink wrap, contributing to the 780 million pounds that The Home Depot has sold to Trex in the past. This is used in composite decking, bringing us one step closer to a circular economy.
We have decreased electricity consumption by over 52% in our U.S. stores since 2010.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our associates and customers. This commitment extends beyond our stores to our communities and the environment. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Read more about our eco actions.

Should I get a portable generator or an inverter generator?
Having a generator means you're prepared for any circumstances life throws at you. Whether you're dealing with tornados, hurricanes, snowstorms, thunderstorms, or strong winds, a portable generator lets you enjoy power when the elements take it out. When considering different generators for sale, don't forget that portable generators are more affordable and generate more electricity than inverter generators, but they're louder and heavier. Always run your generators outdoors, away from doors and windows, for safety purposes.
Why should I repair my roof before spring severe weather arrives?
Make sure your home is ready for spring temperature swings by replacing any faulty or broken parts of your home and hardscaping. If water freezes in the crevices, you could be in for a real headache. On the outside of your home, examine roofing shingles or metal roofing panels for damage or rust that could let water leak in. Gutters should be cleaned to prevent ice dams if you're still prone to ice storms and snow. Check cinder blocks and brickwork for cracks, and verify indoor ceiling tiles are free from water damage and missing pieces. Lastly, chimney caps and vinyl siding should be swapped if damaged.
What are the benefits of doorbell cameras?
Enjoy safety, privacy, and peace of mind with a wireless or wired doorbell camera. No more peeking through an adjacent window or peephole when you can see animal or human visitors in real time. Some doorbell cams even let you chat remotely via your phone, which is useful for delivery people or to scare off wannabe porch pirates. Most cameras integrate with your smart home hub or app to give you easy accessibility. Choose to save video clips for future reference and worry less with more control.
