Tools & Truck Rentals at The Home Depot Near You

The Home Depot Rental Center at South Chase

When it's time to make the leap into a major DIY job, you might not have the specialty tools you need in the garage. Don't let that stop you when you can stop by The Home Depot South Chase Tool Rental Center.

Tool Rental
Our tool rental choices enlarge your toolbelt and toolbox with the exact tools you need to complete a DIY job. It's not necessary to purchase a specialized tool when you're rarely reaching for it. When you're thinking about buying a new tool, try it out before you select which to purchase. Whatever your situation, we have the power tools you're looking for.

Tame the Trees and Lawn Early
Greet the spring with outdoor power equipment rentals and whip the yard into shape again. Neaten the lawn and shrubs with hedge trimmers and rental lawn mowers, and get that driveway and sidewalk clean again with a pressure washer rental. Your outdoor oasis will be looking fresh and ready for new spring flowers in no time.

Make Painting Easier with Paint Sprayers and Rental Scaffolding
Take advantage of longer spring days and paint outdoors. Rent paint sprayers to get professional coverage fast and renew surfaces. Scaffolding rentals help you reach elevated areas when painting fences, houses, and sheds. We carry extension ladders and step ladders for medium or smaller jobs, so you won't have to wait when you're feeling motivated to check that job off the to-do list.

Rental Trucks
Choose one of our trucks when you're in need of a flatbed or pickup truck. It's great for hauling an item that's too big for the car. With excellent availability and a price to match, our vehicles are ready when you need them. We've also got box trucks and Penske moving trucks to help ease the stress of a big move. Availability varies by store, so check out the FAQ or speak to an associate to make sure you choose the right rental truck for you.

Large Equipment Rentals
Handle expansive projects with the right professional equipment. Our large equipment rentals give you the power you need. From the boom lifts and scissor lifts to give you a boost to the mini excavators for hauling materials, we've got an expansive variety of equipment available. If a large equipment rental could help you, explore and see what we've got in stock.

Although we're mentioning specific truck, large equipment, and tool rentals, our rental center may not have everything on hand for your required time frame. If you've got a particular piece of equipment in mind, please contact your local rental center to see where you can pick it up.

Frequently Asked Questions about Rentals

How do I rent tools, trucks, or large equipment?

Stop by the Rental Center at your nearest Home Depot to see what tools or trucks you can rent. If you want confirmation before you drive there, call first to inquire about a truck, tool, or large equipment. You might also visit our truck rental or tool and equipment rental pages to see if what you need is offered at your store. For more info on renting tools or large equipment, read our Tool Rental FAQs, including terms and conditions for the equipment.

How long can I rent tools or large equipment?

Tool rentals and large equipment rentals start at four hour time slots. Simply choose the length of time that suits you. Small DIY projects may only require a short rental period, and we can accommodate large projects as well. You've got options to rent large equipment and tools by the month, day, or week, too. If you need it longer than what you signed up for, call your Rental Center for an extension and avoid late fees.

When do I bring the tools back?

It's fine to return the tools early if you finish your project faster than planned, but on-time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off any built-up dirt from the tool as well. If you need it longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.

Can I rent a truck for a few hours?

Rent a truck or cargo van for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes might be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on the length of your project. Don't forget to factor in the drive between the store and the job site, as you'll need to return it to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Make sure to read the terms and conditions before choosing a vehicle.

Do I need to refill the rental truck with gas?

Yes, please fill up the truck before you bring it back. Match the level of gas that was in the tank when you received the rental. If you don't, you'll be hit with a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.

Do I just need a driver's license to rent a truck or large equipment?

No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be 21 or older. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck. Select tools as well as large equipment also require ID verification via CLEAR.

Do I need to pick up my rented large equipment?

Depending on your location, you can get large equipment delivered to your job site for an affordable rate — out in the field or at your own home. We'll need at least 24 hours notice so we can adequately prepare your rented equipment and you'll need to rent it for a full day. Speak to an associate for the best way to get your large equipment.

What are some ways to avoid extra fees and penalties on my large equipment rentals?

Treat your rented large equipment as any other vehicle: Make sure it's parked legally and you obey traffic laws. Read the operator's manual so you're using it correctly to avoid damaging the equipment or injuring yourself. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are, as cancelling within 12 hours of delivery means you'll incur a cancellation fee. Make sure to return equipment by the deadline or extend the rental period to accommodate the extra hours or days you require.
