The Home Depot Rental Center at S Huntsville

When it's time to dive into a big home improvement job, you might not have every tool you need in your shed or workshop. That's when you should stop by The Home Depot S Huntsville Tool Rental Center.

Tool Rental
Our tool and equipment rental options enlarge your toolbelt and toolbox with the exact tools you need to complete your DIY project. It's not practical to buy a specialized tool when you're rarely reaching for it. When you're searching for a new tool, give it a spin first before you select which one to buy. Whatever your situation, we have the power tools you're looking for.

Tame the Bushes and Lawn Early
Lighten the load with outdoor power equipment rentals and whip the yard into shape again. Neaten the yard with a rental lawn mower and leaf blower rental, the trees and hedges with a chainsaw rental, and the sidewalks with a rental pressure washer. Your outdoor oasis will be looking fresh and ready for new spring flowers in no time.

Make Painting Easier with Ladder and Paint Sprayer Rentals
Beautiful sunny days are a great time to tackle outdoor painting projects. Renew surfaces with a fresh coat of paint. Whether you need rental ladders for painting fences, or scaffolding rentals for painting a house, or a paint sprayer rental for professional coverage, we have what you need.

Rental Trucks
Choose one of our trucks when you need a cargo van or truck. It's great for hauling a tool rental. With excellent availability and a price to match, our vehicles are ready when you are. We've also got box trucks and Penske moving trucks to help ease the stress of a big move. Availability varies by store, so check our FAQ or speak to an Orange Apron to ensure you choose the right rental truck for you.

Large Equipment Rentals
Complete massive projects with the right professional power equipment. Our large equipment rentals give you the power you need. From the boom lifts and scissor lifts to give you a boost to the mini excavators for hauling materials, we've got a surprising variety of equipment available. If a large equipment rental could help you, explore and see what we've got in stock.

Although we're calling out specific tool, large equipment, and truck rentals, not everything is available at every rental center. If you've got a particular piece of equipment in mind, please contact your local rental center to see where you can pick it up.

Frequently Asked Questions about Rentals

How do I rent large equipment, trucks, or tools?

Stop by the Rental Center at your nearest Home Depot to see what trucks and tools are up for rent. If you'd like to be sure of what's in stock, call first to inquire about a truck, tool, or large equipment. You can also read our truck rental or tool and equipment rental pages to see if what you need is available at your local store. For more on renting large equipment or tools, read the Tool Rental FAQs, including equipment terms and conditions.

How long can I rent tools or large equipment?

Tool rentals and large equipment rentals start at four hour time slots. It depends on how long you'd like to rent them. Small DIY jobs may only require a rental for a few hours, and long-term projects aren't a problem either. You've got options to rent large equipment and tools by the week, month, or day, too. If you need it longer than what you signed up for, call the Rental Center to arrange an extension and avoid late fees.

When do I return the tools?

It's fine to return the tools early if you finish your project faster than planned, but on-time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off mud and grime from the tool as well. If you need the tools longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.

Can I rent a truck for a few hours?

Rent a box truck, cargo van, or flatbed truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes could be enough time. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on the length of your project. Remember to factor in the drive between the job site and the store, as you must return it to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Be sure to read the documentation before choosing a vehicle.

Do I need to refill the rental truck with gas?

Yes, please fuel up the truck before you return it. Make a note of the amount of gas in the tank when you receive the truck, and fill it with enough gas to match that level. When you don't refill the vehicle, you'll be hit with a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.

Do I just need a driver's license to rent large equipment or a truck?

No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be 21 or older. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a credit card hold or a deposit, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck. Large equipment or select tools also require ID verification via CLEAR.

Do I need to go get my rented large equipment from the store?

Depending on your location, you may be able to get large equipment dropped off at your job site for a reasonable cost — out in the field or at your own home. You'll need to rent it for one day or longer and provide us with 24 hours notice so we can adequately prepare your rented large equipment. Speak to an associate for the ideal way to get your large equipment.

What are some ways to avoid penalties and extra fees on rented large equipment?

Think of your rented large equipment as any other vehicle: Make sure it's parked legally and you obey traffic laws. Read the manual so you're using it correctly to avoid damaging the equipment or injuring yourself. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are, as cancelling within 12 hours of delivery means you'll incur a cancellation fee. Extend your rental period if you need extra time so you won't get charged a late fee.
