The Home Depot Rental Center at Stapleton

When you're ready to leap into a big home improvement job, you might not have every tool you need in a shed or garage. That's when you should stop by The Home Depot Stapleton Tool Rental Center.

Tool Rental
Our tool rental choices enlarge your toolbox with the precise tools you need to complete the job. It's impractical to get a specialized tool when you're not using it often. When you're in the market for a new tool, do a trial run before you decide which one to buy. Whatever your situation, we have the tools you're looking for.

Rent Post Hole Diggers, Shop Vacuums, and Floor Sanders
Tackle serious jobs with serious power tool rentals. Take your scuffed hardwood to the next level with a floor sander rental and a wet/dry vacuum to get the floors smooth and ready for refinishing. Construct a new fence around your pool or property faster with a post hole digger rental, then utilize other concrete tools that suit your job.

Make Painting Easier with Rental Scaffolding and Ladders
Beautiful sunny days are a great time to tackle outdoor painting projects. Make surfaces look new again with a fresh coat of paint. Whether you need a paint sprayer rental for professional coverage, ladder rentals for painting fences, or scaffolding rentals for painting sheds or houses, we have what you need.

Truck Rental
For your transport needs, we keep cargo vans and box trucks on hand — with availability varying by store. We also offer Penske moving trucks in sizes ranging from 12-feet to 26-feet at certain stores. Choose the right size truck rental for your DIY project so you can keep your timeline running smoothly. As your source for DIY jobs, it's smart to make us your go-to source for moving and transport as well.

Large Equipment Rentals
Complete expansive projects with the right professional power equipment. Our large equipment rentals give you the power you need to finish the job. From the boom lifts and scissor lifts to give you a boost to the skid steers for hauling materials, we've got an expansive variety of equipment available. If a large equipment rental could help you, explore and see what we've got in stock.

Although we're calling out popular large equipment, truck, and tool rentals, not everything is available at every rental center. If you've got a particular item in mind, please contact your local rental center to see where you can pick it up.

Frequently Asked Questions about Rentals

How do I rent a piece of large equipment, a tool, or a truck?

Stop by your local Rental Center to see what tools or trucks you can rent. If you want confirmation before you drive there, call first to inquire about a truck, tool, or large equipment. You could also visit our tool and equipment rental or truck rental pages to see if what you need is offered at your favorite store. For more on renting tools or large equipment, read our Tool Rental FAQs, including terms and conditions for the equipment.

Can I rent large equipment or a tool by the hour?

Tool rentals and large equipment rentals start at four hour time slots. It depends on how long you'd like to rent them. Small DIY jobs may only require a short rental period, and we can accommodate large projects as well. You've got options to rent large equipment and tools by the week, month, or day, too. If you need it longer than your initial rental period, call the Rental Center for an extension and avoid late fees.

When do I return the tools?

You're welcome to return the tools early if you complete your project faster than planned, but on-time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off dust, mud, and grime from the tool as well. If you need it longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.

How long can I rent a truck?

Rent a cargo van, box truck, or pickup truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes may be enough time. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on how long your project is. Be sure to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you'll need to bring it back to the same store where you rented it. Penske moving truck rentals allow one-way rentals as well as round-trip options, and they have different terms. Make sure to read the contract and terms and conditions before you choose a truck.

Do I need to refuel the rental truck when I'm done?

Yes, please fill up the truck before you bring it back. Note the amount of gas in the tank when you receive the truck, and fill it with enough gas to match that same level. When you don't refill the truck, you'll be hit with a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.

Do I just need a driver's license to rent large equipment or a truck?

No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be 21 or older. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck. Large equipment or select tools also require ID verification via CLEAR.

How do I receive my large equipment rental?

Depending on your location, you can get large equipment dropped off and picked up from your job site for an affordable rate — whether that's at your home or out in the field. You'll need to rent it for one day or longer and provide us with 24 hours notice so we can prepare your rental delivery for you. In places where delivery isn't available, speak to an associate for the best way to get your large equipment.

How do I avoid extra fees and penalties on rented large equipment?

Treat your rented large equipment as any other vehicle: Make sure you obey traffic laws and it's parked legally. Read the operator's manual so you're using it correctly to avoid damaging the equipment or injuring yourself. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are, as cancelling within 12 hours of delivery means you'll incur a cancellation fee. Make sure to return equipment by the deadline or extend the rental period to accommodate the extra time you require.
