Tool rentals start at four hour time slots. It depends on how long you'd like to rent them. Small home improvement jobs may only require a rental that's a few hours long, and we can accommodate large projects as well. You've got options to rent tools by the week, month, or day, too. If you need it longer than anticipated, call your Rental Center to arrange an extension and avoid late fees.
When do I return the tools?
You're welcome to return the tools early if you finish your project sooner than predicted, but on-time works, too. As long as you return it by the deadline you were given when you rented it, you'll be good to go. Please clean off any mud or dirt from the tool as well. If you need it longer, call your local rental center to see if you can extend your rental period.
How long can I rent a truck?
Rent a truck or cargo van for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes could be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on how long your project is. Remember to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you must bring it back to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow one-way rentals as well as round-trip options, and they have different terms. Make sure to read the contract before selecting a vehicle.
Should I refill the rental truck with gas before I bring it back?
Yes, please fill up the truck before you return it. Make a note of the amount of gas in the tank when you receive the truck, and be sure to fill it with enough gas to match that level. When you don't refill the rental truck, you'll be hit with a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Do I just need a driver's license to rent a truck?
No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be 21 or older. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a credit card hold or a deposit, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements.
