Though I do recommend this store there are some things I think need to be addressed. This is tricky as some may think this is a social bias.
Ive been doing business with this store for 6 or so years. I have done fairly large purchases that required Home Depot installs. One such install went completely sideways and was the source of great stress and lost days at work. In the end Home Depot did come through and did the right thing. It wasnt easy to get satisfaction but in the end we got it. This is why I still recommend Home Depot. Now for the negative. There has been an almost whole-sale turnover of staff at this store and many new sales people dont speak technical English very well, or at all. Its obvious that these are smart people but if you cant communicate, mistakes will be made, and I recently ran into a BIG mistake due to language skills. I have not discussed this latest issue with HD yet so I wont go into details. It is important to remember that if you are getting important advise from an HD employee that in the end may cost you money (Warranty info etc.) get a second opinion from their boss.
I understand that HD is trying to appeal to the multi cultural makeup of the local community. However it has come at a cost to the customers that only speak English. (I admire the employees that speak multiple languages and I actually feel a bit inferior to them where it comes to multiple language skills.)
In the end its all about communication and on a busy day at this store you cant always find an available, English as a first language, speaker..
