Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting lead acid batteries, rechargeable batteries, plastic plant pots, and CFLs for recycling.
Home Depot stores sent approximately 5.3 million pounds of shredded paper for recycling in 2022. This helped the planet by preserving over 63,500 trees, keeping over 16,000 trash bags of solid waste out of landfills, saving over 50 million gallons of water, and conserving 7.8 million kilowatt hours of electricity.
We have decreased electricity consumption by over 52% in our U.S. stores since 2010.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our customers and associates, and this commitment extends beyond our stores to the environment and our communities. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Learn more about our eco actions.

Do you offer specialty moving boxes?
Pick up an assortment of moving boxes to make moving or storage easier. We've got the sizes you need, including specialty ones like wardrobe and TV boxes. Cushion any and all items with moving blankets and bubble cushion to ensure your belongings make it there safely. Don't forget to check out our moving truck rentals if you need those, too.
Is it good to have a generator at home?
We've got the variety you need when searching for a generator for sale. Inverter generators are cleaner and quieter than traditional portable generators. They'll adjust to the required load, making less noise when they create less power. When browsing generators for sale, don't forget that portable generators cost less and generate more electricity than inverter generators, but they're louder and heavier. Always run your generators outdoors, away from windows and doors, for safety purposes.
What home repairs should I make sooner rather than later?
Make sure your home is ready for spring temperature swings by replacing or repairing faulty parts of your home and hardscaping. If water freezes in any crevices, you could be in for major repairs later. On the outside of your home, examine shingles or metal roof panels for damage or rust that could let water in. Clean gutters to prevent ice dams if you're prone to frozen precip as the seasons change. Check cinder blocks and bricks for cracks. Indoors, ensure ceiling tiles are free from missing pieces and water damage. Lastly, replace chimney caps and vinyl siding if in poor condition.
What benefits do doorbell cameras have?
Enjoy safety, privacy, and peace of mind with a wireless or wired doorbell camera. No more peeking through a window or peephole when you can watch visitors in real time. Some doorbell cams even let you talk to whoever is on your doorstep via your phone, which is useful for delivery people or to scare off would-be porch pirates. Several cameras integrate with your smart home app or hub to give you flexible accessibility. Save video clips for future reference as needed and worry less with more control.
