Tool Rental
Kick off your home improvement project with confidence and the correct tools. Let The Home Depot Tustin Tool Rental Center fill in the gaps in your toolbelt with the tools you don't have at home. You can rent the tools you need and bring them back when the job is done. If those rental tools just went from wanted to needed, we have used tools available for purchase. The retired rental tools are discounted compared to the new items in our aisles.
Add Insulation When the Weather is Cooler
For a more energy-efficient home, update your insulation in the spring — before it gets dangerously hot in your attic. Rent equipment made for insulation to get it installed correctly. Choose from a cellulose insulation blower or a fiberglass blower, and insulate those nooks and crannies with ease. It'll keep the house cooler this spring and summer, then continue working year-round. You'll enjoy warmer temps in the winter, too, which can tamp down electricity usage.
Tame the Lawn and Greenery Early
Lighten the load with outdoor power equipment rentals and whip the yard into shape again. Neaten the yard with a rental lawn mower and leaf blower rental, the trees and hedges with a chainsaw rental, and the sidewalks and driveway with a rental pressure washer. Your outdoor oasis will be refreshed and ready for new spring flowers before you know it.
Rental Trucks
To make it easier to transport large tool rentals, we keep trucks and cargo vans rental-ready — with availability varying by store. We'll have the right size truck rental for your project so you can keep your job on track. As your trusted source for DIY projects, packing, and storage needs, it's smart to make us your go-to source for moving and transport as well.
To get tools and transportation for your DIY or home improvement project, check out The Home Depot Tustin Tool and Truck Rental Center. Renting the appropriate tools for the job makes a difference. We're here to help you complete that DIY project.
How do I rent trucks or tools?
Stop by the Rental Center at your nearest Home Depot to see which trucks or tools you can rent. If you'd like confirmation before you drive there, call first to inquire about a truck or tool. You could also read our tool and equipment rental or truck rental pages to see if what you need is available at your favorite store. For more details on renting tools, read the Tool Rental FAQs, including equipment terms and conditions.
Can I rent a tool for a week?
Tool rentals start at four hour time slots. It depends on how long you'd like to rent them. Small home improvement projects may only require a rental for a few hours, and we can accommodate large projects as well. You've got options to rent tools by the week, day, or month, too. If you need it longer than anticipated, call the Rental Center to arrange an extension and avoid late fees.
When do I return the tools?
It's fine to return the tools early if you complete your project ahead of schedule, but on-time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off any built-up dirt from the tool as well. If you need it longer, call your local rental center to see if you can extend your rental period.
Can I rent a truck for a week?
Rent a cargo van, box truck, or flatbed truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes could be enough time. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on how long your project is. Don't forget to factor in the drive between the job site and the store, as you'll need to bring it back to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow one-way rentals as well as round-trip options, and they have different terms. Be sure to read the contract before you choose a truck.
Do I need to refill the rental truck with gas?
Yes, please fill up the truck before you return it. Match the amount of gas that was in the tank when you got the rental. When you don't refill the vehicle, you'll be hit with a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Do I just need a driver's license to rent a truck?
No, you also need to be 21 or older, in addition to holding a valid driver's license. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements.
